PSS and PS2 combination

I had read about several posts saying the opposite, but here's my experience:
No it doesn't work, even after 3000 miles.

So that's it, you don't even say why?
Drove with that combo for 3k miles as well and I didn't notice any difference when I went to PSS on all 4 corners.

It only works if you stay far away from traction limits. PSS have way more grip than PS2, so if you corner hard then the end of the car with the PS2's is going to lose traction before the other end. For a true DD that is never cornered hard it will work, but I've never done it.

Right. If you ran PS2 rear and PSS front: drift machine. PS2 front/PSS rear: understeer from hell.

I think it should depend on how you drive up to a point, but it really bugs me in cornering and I'm not even talking about fast corners.
The difference is night and day for speeds +60 mph. Changing lanes is not fun, the back goes one direction and the front another.
I had used different tires (due to flat tires, etc) in the past, and now it feels just like that. No surprise though, those tires are very different.
Anyway I have to order two new fronts now (they have still good depth), but IMHO if you have any doubts about this, order 4 new tires.
I hope others chime in...

As I've noted in other threads, mixing always carries some risk of the type of unbalanced handling that you describe.

Given the fact that Michelin made a point of specifically advising against mixing the PSS with anything else, it is not surprising that an enthusiast driver would feel a difference.

It's like wearing a different shoe on each foot: doesn't mean you're going to fall on your face automatically, but certainly not going to help your balance and agility.
