Question Sizing: will 285/35R19 fit on ZCP rear wheels?

I am looking at Bridgestone Potenza RE-11s based on reviews and very high recommendations from dnvrdrvr.

I have no added camber, but I do notice that these tires have a slightly smaller circumference and lower profile than other tires of the same size.

Has anyone run these tires on their ZCP?

Why these? Because of their stable cornering ability. The Contis that came on my car feel a bit mushy on the track in sharper corners. My challenge here is that Bridgestone Potenza RE-11s don't come in 275/35R19s, so I'd have to drop to 275/30s or 265/35s, which I really don't want to do.

My alternative, which is not an unhappy one, is to go with 275/35R19 on Pirelli PZero or Potenza S-04 Pole Position tires.

Any thoughts?

they should fit. others have run them on the non zcp wheels with no problem, and I don't think the ZCP offset is that much more aggressive.

Why would you recommend 30s? For clearance comfort or something else? Just curious.

To keep the ratio same as stock. 265/35/19 is factory, because you're moving to a 285, the 35 multiplier will be too tall and you need to lower it down to 30. This is much too much of a drop in diameter though imo... ideally you want to go with 295/30 or 305/30 for a better match but the factory rims won't allow it. Keep the stock sizes imo or swap to wider wheels and run 305's.

I believe GTS comes with same ZCP wheels with:
255/35/19F, 285/30/19R.

So I don't know 285/35/19 will fit or not but prob. I would go with 285/30/19 if it's mine.

In the other hand, a lot of RAC guys run their 19x9F, 19x10R with 255/35/19F, 275/35/19R. So if you want to keep 35 profile, go with 275/35/19 which is proven to fit on most lowered M3s.

And that takes me away from the RE-11s to the PZeros or S-04 Pole Position alternatives (or yet another brand to be named).

God damnit.
Look here...Not ZCP but width better suits the 285.

285/35 looks fantastic on a lowered car. No rubbing whatsoever. Plenty of room.

285/30 is not the same ratio as a 265/35. It is shorter. It will further throw off your speedometer and make your car looked jack up in the back on stock suspension.

295/30 is ideal but you really need a 10.5 inch wheel for that. The ZCP wheels are 10 inches. 275/35 is the optimal size here even though the RE11 isn't available in that size.

How about the new Michelin Pilot Super Sport? It comes in a 275/35 and 255/35 which is perfect for the front.

I would go with the new Michelin Pilot Super Sport in a 275/35 rear... they are an amazing tire. A notch below the RE-11 for pure track performance I expect but better in all other ways. Anyway, it's an option if you can't get the RE-11s in the right size.

After mixed evaluations from various folks here and IRL re the 285s, I'm now looking at the 275/35 rears. Now to choose a tire that's not the RE-11. Considering the Michelin Super Sport, sure, but leaning towards the Pirelli PZero, or perhaps even the Yokohama Advan Neova AD08.

Thanks everyone!

IMO, The Super Sport would easily out perform the PZero. Tire Rack rated the older PS2 ahead of the PZero and the Super Sport is a much better tire than the older PS2 in every way. I sound like a Michelin PSS salesperson If it were me, I would be looking at the AD08 if all out dry performance is paramount and the PSS if a dry/wet/comfort blend is important to you.

Actually looking for corner stability. The Contis end up a bit mushy in the tighter turns. My understanding is that the Michelins are roughly similar in that characteristic, while the RE-11s are much more solid. And seeing comparisons with the RE-11s with the Yokohamas that is looking promising.

I think the PS2 had a softer sidewall than the PSS. The PSS is much firmer and less mushy on turn in than the old PS2... can't say how they compare to the Contis (I haven't driven on them) but the PSS is firmer on turn in than the PS2, Potenza RE050 Pole Position and EVO Ventus based on my experience. Based on what you are looking for, however, I think the Yokos would be the best tire... VERY firm with great turn in and grip. Might be a bit loud and rough but if that is secondary, the AD08 is probably the best option out there.

For sidewall stiffness, RE11 > Michelin PS2 > Conti

The PSS will probably fit in between the RE11 and the PS2. Pending test track review of course.

The AD08 and RE11 are quite competitive with eachother.
