remember the m3 (e46) beat the RS4 already!

just a reminder that the previous generation M3 has already beaten the RS4 according to the motoring bible evo (feb 06)

http://evo.co.uk/carreviews/cargroup...cedes_c55.html

there has been posts recently from audi fan boys stating that the rs4 is king it never has been. damm good car maybe, but its not a m3!

///M was, is, and will be the only king unless BMW comes out with something better.

RS4 is a good car but if the new M is heavy then the RS4 is a whale with okay balance and questionable styling.

In mind the RS4 gets a lot of attention because its the first time Audi did something right. Audi is like the underdog that everyone is really praying for. Mag reviews almost approach the RS4 with this "yay for Audi" tone because they finally didnt screw the pooch for once.

I'm wondering if we fast forward a few month whether the new M3 will actually beat the old M3 in reviews? So far the steering and the gearbox seem to get the thumbs down ---- I can not really understand how two such basic principles can be anything but perfectly delivered - just weird. The E46 M3 gearbox was bloody awful, it beggars belief why they put virtually the same box in again? I think the M3 really depends on the new DCT geatbox - if (and it a bloody great bi IF) they get this spot on it could turn this car right round, into an awesome beast !

I think after what's been written only a fool would buy a MT car - well at least before reading the DCT reviews. I wonder when we'll see these?

Ok, so why are you spending your time comparing the E92 coupe to the 4dr RS4? If you say it makes no sense, then why are you here doing just that?

Just ignore these trolls. They're trying to justify themselves buying an inferior car.

They'll all be gone once the official reviews/comparisons start showing up.

Private club

As anti-democratic and stuffy as it may seem it is almost time for a private M3 board where you have to apply to join. I enjoy intelligent cross brand debates/comparisons and discussions but never when it goes 100% emotional, contrary to the facts, providing zero evidence, inflamatory, troll-ish or fan boy-ish. In that theme I'd be happy to invite REASONABLE Audi, Porsche and MB entusiasts to join. So many posts now are such a damn distraction and waste of time.

I perfered the E46 M3 over my RS4 too. The RS4 is a great car... for an Audi. It's far, FAR from being any kind of sports car.

7:58 - Audi RS4 4.2 V8 FSI, 420 PS/ 1650 kg, Frank Stippler, (10/05)

Do you see the difference?

The CSL you can buy as tested.
The RS4 you CANNOT buy as tested.

Do you see the difference ?
