Best 18" Wheel for Drag Radials

Given most of the better drag radials for 18" or 19" wheels are in the 295 or wider range, does anyone have advice on the least expensive option to ONLY use at the strip please? Offset to fit an e90 m3 please.

I am not sure if a 295 will fit on a factory wheel (18" or 19" rears for that matter).

Thanks!

I would use Apex ARC8 in 17 inch for drag use. Maybe 17 x 9.5 with 275/40/17 drag radials. But there are also some 18 inch drag radials and you can buy Apex ARC8 in 18 as well. For drag you want more sidewall. If you cannot find the offset you want, use a spacer.

People have also done pretty well with R compound street track tires like R888 or RA1 if you want a dual purpose tire.

Its the rubber compound more than the width that matters.

Thanks for providing options , much appreciated.

I would definitely agree a 17" with sidewall is better for a slick, I wasnt sure if any wheels would clear our brakes though. Should the apex clear? If there were any 17x10" rears that would be ideal if indeed they fit.

No need for dual purpose, My advan's work fine for track events (and my daily streets).

Thanks for chiming in!

People have put apex arc8 in 17x10 on E90M3, not just over the smaller rear brakes but I think also up front. You might even see pictures at Apex.
