AA X-Pipe Installed

Nice piece of work AA!

Sounds great with stock muffler.....I may change out the stock sherman tank muffler in the future, but for now, it will do.

I installed the HFC's too. I got an increased emissions light this morning (had install done yesterday). I am wondering what the point is to HFC's if they set a code (asside form being a bit kinder to the environment)?

I guess I will now have to pursue some software to negate the damn light....oh well.

As for performance, it does feel a bit more responsive and have a bit more guts! I am pretty happy with it, sans the check engine light.

Overall, great build quality (exactly what I expect from AA), great sound, and a nice little bump in performance!

The older AA HFC throws a code. Talking to them was something AA did not realize and only reveled itself under certain conditions. At times the car never showeed a CEL it depended on how hard the car was driven etc.

The 200 cell HFC they used was not good enough, I suspect they are searching for a new set of cats that will not throw a CEL.

Great xpipe though. They sell some parts to add the Xpipe to the stock cats by welding the cats onto a set of fittings.

Not sure which ones Fabspeed uses, but they are 200 cell and do not throw a CEL. This was the main reason I chose it over AA, and it's cheaper too.

I had spoken to AA last week and they said they are in the process of designing a new HFC utilizing the HJS cats...

The retail for the Fabspeed high flow cats and resonated x-pipe is $2495 (I went with this to help with it not being obnoxiously loud). Non-resonated I believe is $2295. Contact Taylor at Ape Performance if you are interested in one.

slammedm3, if you were going to go with fabspeed, I heard that it would be better to get the resonators. A member on here told me that without the resonators + Eisenmann Race, the drone was unbearable

I don't think you lose any power! Here's the link to a dyno vid of a member's setup

I'm going to eventually go with Fabspeed

Resonators are highly recommended. They don't reduce flow, and this engine is inherently raspy sounding. With HFC's and a Race exhaust it would be annoying not to have resonators.
