I think the E9X M3 certainly more aggressive than its non-M E9X counterparts when you compare the E30, E36 and E46. And for some reason, I think it would look horrid in yellow.
Fire orange is good. Maybe I am biased but Monte Carlo Blue is the color that suits the E9X the best.

Red highlights? If you're talking about the wheels, they are yellow perfectly matched to the paint of the car. Maybe that pic makes them look red?
Coincidentally, I always did get compliments on those things. here's a better pic (when I had a CF hood): Anyway getting back to the topic at hand, I believe the M3 looks better in orange than yellow or green. I think orange would be my first choice. |

Sorry! On my screen the rims looked like they were lipped with red. I was also liking the tow hook.

Back on topic, not a fan of the bright colors on the M3. Give me Silver, black white or grey.

To me the M3 kinda looks like a man in a well cut suit but a fit man, someone that is athletic and works out. Picture that same guy showing up to the office in the same suit but its colored chartreuse, thats what the M3 looks like to me with "lambo" colors. Just seems off.
Sorry for the bad analogy. |

This really comes down to personal preference. I like the idea of a car that is somewhat subtle but certain people will know that you are driving a beast. The cool thing about the M3 IMO is that it is so versatile. I would think too bright of a color woudl take some of this away and not allow you to blend in a little when you would want to.

The e92 M3 is after the Aston Martin V8 Vantage the most beautiful car on the road today, the e92 M3 look is magnificent so well proportion with the outstanding flowing lines , the car just shows its muscle in a very clever way…so elegant, like someone said in this thread an pro-athlete in a high-end tux, just perfect fit…
IMO the bests colors are Alpine White and Frozen Silver (both with blk exterior trim)…see pics…I might seem biased but I believe these two colors shows the e92 lines the best… Badass??? Yes, it is a badass for any occassion...

If by badass you mean visually out there and generally thought of by all as a high performance sports car then I'd probably say no. Car enthusiasts will know what its all about but gen pop...
It is refined, understated in looks, I love it for that reason.

I think it depends on the look you are going for. If you are going to modify the car quite a lot then you could pull of colours like Fire Orange, Java Green, Speed Yellow etc. However, if you keep the car stock I don't think flashy colours suit the M3. The exception to this of course would be Melbourne Red which looks great on stock M3s. Also, Atlantis Metallic I've always been a fan of.

To go in the opposite direction, I like having power on tap. It doesn't matter what color you roll in. horsepower is horsepower. Unless you're driving a 89 Honda Accord with a racing stripe. That adds about 250 hp.
