Rear shock mounts
Trying to install some poly rear shock mounts today. I cannot get enough of the shock rod to poke through to install the shock nut. Anyone have any tips?

Were the rear damper upper mounts designed specifically for the shaft mounting length (unthreaded + threaded) and diameter of your damper?
Depending on the material of the mounts, your only options are to (1) shave their thickness (safety issue?) or (2) see if they make a set with a thinner combined height. I've dealt with a similar situation... When I first ordered my TCK setup, GC machined the camber plate bushing to fit the GC/Koni front strut which has a much shorter mounting length and different taper from the TCK/Koni strut...solution was to machined new shorter adapters/sleeves and bushings. I believe the EDC and non-EDC rear shock shaft diameters are different. Did you get the right mounts? Maybe the shaft is too thick and not allowing you to get it all the way in (that's what she said).

It's definitely a stack issue and not a girth. .
Above the chamfer, it goes black top hat thingy- washer-lower bushing-car-upper bushing-washer-nut. Even without the car, it would still be quite a challenge. Should I maybe heat the bushings in warm water?

I'm wondering if bigjae's correct - GC gave you the wrong bushings (EDC vs. non-EDC)?
To get the nut started it sure looks like you'd have to severely compress the bushings! |

Guess I'll wait until Monday to see what's up. I buttoned up the car to test the new brake lines. What a pain in the ass those lines connecting to the subframe were.

You have to bend you a 11mm wrench...the longer and cheaper the better. What a nightmare with brake fluid steady pouring down on me. I had to use so muh grip strength to combat the lack of friction I was worn out. This was all on a lift too!

Question: where is your bump stop? Is it GC supplied, or stock?
Attached for reference.
