Front license plate??

What do you guys do about the front licensplate?

il took I of last summer and the summer before and managed to talk my way out of a ticket the first year but the second I got hit whit three tickets on $150 a piece. ( Even had a date in the car one time and the "being pulled over part" wasn't very popular...and did definitely not improve my chances of a happy ending )
The front plate just distorts the hole symmetry in the front of the car.
Have somebody tried to move it down to the center radiator air intake or something, that of course going to give you problems whit other stuff.
Tricky problem!

A lot of people just take the chance and pay the tickets. Otherwise the other popular choices are :

a) mount the plates front and center
b) use a tow-hook mount to the side
c) Sticking the plates in your front window (not a good idea and still not legal)
d) trying to fit it in the radiator area (that sounds risky)

I thought the Euro plates don't look so bad in front actually, it's the square U.S. plates that are an abomination in my opinion.

Also be aware because in CA, there are still laws stating you have to have an acutal mounting bracket with attached plate to vehicle, and there is also a height requirement too... I know, I tried the plate in window but didnt work out too well for me....

Plate in the windshield is ghetto. Take your tickets like a man! I do. No front plate ever for me.

I'm going to keep my paper plate on as long as humanly possible as well. Less hassle and real easy to play dumb when the day finally does come.

OP: $150 each ticket?!! Jesus you're getting screwed.

for sure, actually it's a bit higher over here, almost $160 per ticket so it gets a bit light in wallet after a couple of times but one or two tickets a year is worth it.

how much are the police charging in US for this kind of tickets?

I see guys in the US with the Euro plates on the front. Find someone with a US plate you like and offer to trade them

Another option that a lot of people do is just to leave their paper plate in the window. An actual plate in the window attracts attention since it is improper (and actually rather dangerous... I wouldn't want that flying at me/my passenger in an accident!), but a paper plate just looks like it is a new car

It varies state to state (and maybe even city to city), but I remember when I was in college at Berkeley it was $15 -- then I moved to Austin and here it's $150. Although there was some fluke with a law rewrite recently so that it's now still technically an offense not to have front plates, but it's no longer a punishable offense, so you can get cited but there's no fine anymore!

Or you could mount the front license plate, and then alter it a bit after brushing your teeth....

Wow, that guy isn't very bright. Didn't he realize that license plate fonts are picked because it is supposed to be very difficult to change one character to another without it looking "off"?

You can't just change a "one" to a "seven" without attracting even more attention.

Don't like getting pulled over, don't like sweating it every time I see a cop car and did not like the recent $70 ticket. Mounted the plate and got over it, especially since it is a lease. I am afraid it will get worse for states with the law as the new cameras sweep plates during cruises.

I began to find the screwing by the cops worse than screwing the plate on and moving on.
