Sorry, no help here, but those doing or considering keyhole deletes might want to keep this story in mind...

How old is the car? Is this comfort access?

What year is the car? It may need a new battery. Also check your other fob and the battery in both fobs.

Sounds like a trip to the dealership for a looky-lew to me. I have no idea other than to say it sounds computer related and didn't attend Cal Tech or even Devry for that matter so I'm of no service here.

This happened to my previous E90, at first they replaced a fuse inside the glovebox then a couple months later the same problem occured. The underlying problem was actually an actuator inside one of the doors that had stopped working, at an independent shop it cost me $450~ to get fixed.

Yes, very common for this to cause door locking issues.

Except same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Thanks to a similar thread I simply fixed it by pulling out / replacing that fuse. It is kind of a pain to access the fuses with the passenger door shut, however!

Door actuator issue is common on E90/E92. See these threads:

I had the same problem. 2008 car. Last night all the radio presets went blank, the trunk release button would not work and all the door lock actuator would not work. After a day of this the station presets and trunk release started to work but the actuators still didn't work. I checked the battery voltage and it was 12.08 VDC. Checked the door fuses and one was blown. Replaced be fuse started the car. With the car running battery voltage is highet(14.4VDC). Doors unlocked. I suspect with the battery voltage low the actuators drew more current and blew the fuse and spike the computer causing temporary loss of the other functions. Time for a new battery. What's the best option outside the dealer?

Same thing on my 2007 E90 335i, door actuators. After some discussion about it being a common issue, BMWNA replaced both L and R actuators.
