I'm late to the party but that car sounds mean! I cold almost see buying it just for the sound. While it's a big fat girl it sure does look mean, like kick you in the teeth mean.
I'm also watching 2015 Mustang GT. For what it's worth it comes with heated and cooled seats, can't get that even in the M4 (optional Recaros). While I don't car about the badge I do care about not having the same car as everyone else. If I got a Mustang GT I'd have to modify it a bit to make it more unique to me. I see 10 Mustangs a day where I live spanning the last 4 generations). I see maybe 1-2 M3's a week. Still better performance for 2/3rds the cost and much cheaper maintenance and repair, something to consider. At least for those us us that bought our M3's used. |

people buy Challengers because they want a Challenger - other cars might be objectively better, but Chrysler has hit a home run with the overall "look and feel" package
that hellcat looks f'in EPIC

Lol at dissing BMW drivers on a BMW forum!
Is this really news to some people? People buy BMW's because they are looking for more than all out performance.... Duh! BMW doesn't make track toys, never have. Maybe E30 M3 but that's it. If that's what you're looking for then there are plenty of other options.....

I hope it does handle like an M5 which is another "Trans-Atlantic Vessell" but it won't. Straight line fun will get old too eventually as you smoke up like the "Oracle" in the Matrix. I guess burning up tires is fun though...and expensive. I applaud Chrysler/SRT and all the Americans now for stepping up their respective games finally but THIS might be a case of diminishing returns. 707hp WOW.

It's pretty much impossible to find a way to insult 707 HP... There is only one argument to be made... 707 HP. The answer to everything is, because 707 HP. Pure man car. Really can't compare to the M3. Apples and oranges. Definitely the big boy car and just don't even bother at the stoplight. Would loooove to drive it, probably not own it though.
Who needs drugs for Testosterone Replacement Therapy when you can get a Hellcat?? Really comes down to, do you like to drag race or do you like twisties more? Can't really say which is better, it's just what you like. A night at the drag strip showboating ridiculous horsepower and getting a free facelift when your skins stretches around your skull can be just as fun as a day at the track!

What are you guys thinking the Hellcat can do a 1/4 mile in? I'm thinking well into the 10 second range @ over 130 mph.

The real test of true HP will be the trap speed. If it's 130+, it's ALL there lol

11.5 @ 131 is my bet on the stock tires. I'm sure once the automatics get into the hands of the drag racing bunch, we will see low 10's out of the car with just drag slicks, maybe even 9's with a little bit of bottle.

Wow!! These are good times for car enthusiasts. 707 hp from a factory car and warrantied is ridiculous! I can't wait to see and hear this in person when it hits the streets. I wonder how long it will be until we crack the 1,000 hp barrier? I hope the horsepower battle continues between the American manufacturers. It's great to see this when others are working on more "green" efficient technologies.
