Wait what... 2013 Audi S8 = 11.9 sec 1/4 mile

So what’s up with current Audi engines? Just saw Car and Driver did 1/4 mile 11.9 sec @ 118 mph and Motor Trend did 11.8 sec @ 118.3 mph in 2013 Audi S8 (4620 Lbs)… that’s insane, I guess they found sweet formula: very underrated turbo engine plus Quattro AWD. Looks like very familiar formula: GT-R, Panamera Turbo, AMG-soon… and maybe M-division at some point.

BTW, recently 2013 M5 manual did 1/4 mile in 12.1 sec by Car and Driver.

Old news, but it should've gotten more attention than it did.

It's also a total bargain at $110K MSRP.

Garage List
A relative just picked one up! Can't wait to drive in it!! Car looks great, and has stellar performance, especially when you consider the price compared to something like the S63

If I was in the market for a large size luxury sedan, I'd also go with the S8. In fact, in that size category, I'd choose A8 over others already. I am not too much of an Audi guy, but this new generation A8/S8 does the job for me.

Audi's styling has always been a little bland/conservative but the numbers speak for themselves. Sub 12 second quarter mile in an executive luxury car for $110k is hard to beat.

That beats out the S63 AMG in a straight line IIRC which costs about 50% more.

that is damned impressive.

I remember years ago watching a guy in a S600 blast a 10.9 quarter mile time at MIR. tuning and a shot of nitrous.......barely made a sound and just hauled ass.

he came back to the pits laughing and shaking his head. A/C was on and was getting a back massage the whole time lol.

big engine with turbo's = awesomeness.

Previous A8 is IMO best looking Audi Sedan.

I personally drive one and its pretty dope. Not as fun as the r8 v10 but still fun. I will say the exterior styling is a bit dull

It's amazing how 5 or 6 years ago Audi's styling was viewed as being progressive, bold, elegant.

The A5/S5 was a marvel to look at, but now that design is already quite dated.

This.

Although American auto mags are known to do slight rolling quarter miles so they can blast stupid low times on their covers, it still shows the car is fast... even though it's boring enough to put the rest of traffic to sleep.
