Check this out. 135is considered BMWs best, also tops the M135i. Just to add fuel to the fire in this discussion.

I have gone against a 135i with DCT (my MT 09 M3 is stock except for intake and an Evo Akrapovic exhaust). This was during an organized affair in an airstrip that we pretty much had to ourselves the whole day. We were dead even until approximately 150-200 kph (not very sure as I wasn't looking at the speedo) when I started pulling away slowly.

A 135i showing at an airstrip event, it probably was at least tuned!

I own both, and both have DCT. I have run against my wife and we are dead even until around 100mph where the M3 really starts to pull pretty hard. By 120mph I have a good 5 cars with me pulling harder and harder.

Are you guys serious? A 135 is not in the same ballpark as the current generation M3. Please stop magazine racing. Thats all I see in this thread, regardless.

135i would be a competitor to a 3.0 Z4 Roadster. The E89 35is and E86M would run away from the 135i or be close to it. 3400 lbs is a lot for that small car. Under 3000 pounds we have a different story, but we dont. I won't even debate this.

Z4MC, Z4 35is, and 1M are all equal competitors.

The E92 M3 in a 5 mile straight line will pull away from all of the above. This is fact.

Didn't even know there was an M135i

So is that in between a 1M and 135i?
This is only available in Europe right now. I don't believe we'll be getting this state-side; however, the M235i ships here this year. Should be quick!

n55 <135 (stock) vs M3 (stock) 1/4mile... M3 is car length faster .. 135 w/tune and few mods vs stock m3 hold neck and neck till 140 and after that M3 all the way till 178. GG for the win.

Not actually 100% correct. BMW has released the M135i outside Europe too.

The 128i is the last non M car BMW makes than I would like to own. When it goes out of production, BMW will no longer make even a single car I'd consider buying .
Completely agree. N52 is a far better engine for a long term owner as well.
You would also need suspension bits, tires and brakes as well. Thats quickly an extra five grand or more. Hp without traction and grip and handles is nothing.

Yep. Actually, it's how we met while I was stationed in Las Vegas. She belonged to a local GTO club and I belonged to a Mustang Club.

No.

First of all, only the 1m and z4m are m cars, both have LSD among other m specific upgrades. The z4 35 does not, it is comparable to the 335is.

Second of all, a z4m is basically the same speed if a little slower than a 135i, though I'd rather the z4m

This thread has been enlightening for someone who is in the market for either the M or the 135. I am not going to track it and I do not plan on going over normal highway speeds... so I guess I have to relinquish my quest for the M.

Thanks for the input from all!

Soooooooooooo....my buddy and I went to car show this morning, and there was a mobile Dynojet. He has a 2010 6MT 135i, and recently got a drop in K&N and a Cobb Stage I tune. 339hp, 379lb/ft tq. Pretty impressive, and people surrounding us were in disbelief when the number flashed *lol*.

Incorrect. I was a former owner of these vehicles and can tell you first hand. Are you an owner? Like I said I will not debate what I know and have experienced.

Good day.

Yes, it does have an LSD. All m cars have had LSD. No non m cars have LSD.

Not sure what you are trying to argue about.
