Wow...you are getting screwed. No dealer does all that unless they screwed up major. They knew it was messed up when they gave it back to you.

Uh oh. Somebody done goofed. You and the dealer both in this case. I'll let my dealer detail my car. They have guys who are really good, and I'm friends with the GM and service director so nobody fucks with my car.

Say no more. Best of luck, I drive 50 miles to another service provider to avoid that place.

Its Rod Ortega...
In years past I would have agreed about Braman but I have had nothing but positive results in the last few years, first at Braman Audi (where Rod Ortega was a service rep), then at Braman BMW. I missed the little warning in the upper right corner of the dash until I was a mile from the dealership and already late for work. When I got to work and turned the car of I got a larger warning and discovered the edc failure. "And this problem was not there before you drop it?" Yes, I brought the car in for regular service and the dct software recall and left with the problem. I had the rear brakes done and I suspect that there is a connection. Hopefully I'll know more today.

So at 4:00 p.m. yesterday the Service Rep calls and says the part they need to fix my car has arrived and is being installed and he will call me tomorrow.
I am hopeful the car will be done today. I have tomorrow off so even if I have to wait till Friday it is okay, but I'll be pissed if it goes over another week-end. I even have a Christmas present for the car and if she isn;t here Sunday morning to enjoy, I'll be sad.

No, when I came in two weeks ago for my first service I told them about the knob and they agreed to fix without any issues. Just had to order the part. When I first picked up car on Tuesday, the new knob was already installed.

At 4:00 my service rep call and says they need to install another control module, it has ben ordered and is in his words, "being airlifted in." Says it does not look like the car will be ready tomorrow either.. What a bah humbug Christmas.
Guess I'll just have to drive my other car this week-end:

My Rule #1 for my cars being serviced at any BMW center: Have CA place the following on the work order: "*****UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS THIS VEHICLE TO GO TO THE DETAIL SHOP!****"

Either your car is fine or something happend. You would be suprised how many
cars get damaged during transit etc and the dealer doesnt have to report it if its under 30% (if I recall correctly). Also as others have mentioned I would never let the dealer wash or "detail" my car, 99% of the time they will do a hack job with a buffer and either leave holograms, swirls or scratches. If I was in your shoes I would head straight to the dealer to see whats going on. Just my 2cents. |
