They look pretty similar. Space isn't as dark as the sparkling graphite (which they don't do in 2009 anyway), but it is much darker than SS2.

Hard to say since I personally dont have much experiance w/ the silver on the e46. However, about a year ago right after I picked up my Space e92 I past an e46 M3 that was the same color combo (space/red) as my e92 m3. So that means that Space Grey was an e46 color, just under a different moniker. If the e46 I saw was silver gray I would say that they are the same color. Hope that helps. For what it's worth I love the way my car looks w/ the gunmetal 18"s. Space Grey is a great choice.

Space Grey is darker than Silver Gray on the E46 and silver gray looks lighter and closer to silver in the light than the Space does.
E92 is darker all the time where as the E46 color changed well in all lighting conditions |

my vote is for AuGry all the way. Very cool color, I like it 'cause it can look like a totally different color depending on the lighting or it will pickup on some blue hues from the sky...
