I picked up my e90 M3 last week and have covered 800 miles so far - i owned a 335i up until last month. I am still observing the break in procedure so no revs above 5500 but i will tell you that everything bar mpg is better in this car, i cannot believe how much better the car feels to drive over the 335- it really is night and day . Even with the revs kept below 5500 and on 3/4 throttle the car feels in the same league as my stock 335 acceleration wise - i do have the DCT however which gives you seemless acceleration which accentuates the feeling of speed IMO - cannot wait to really open this car up after the service is done!

OP - have you gone 6mt or DCT? Either way you will not be disappointed.

I have driven manual cars exclusively for 15 years so i know what youre saying...........but the DCT box is truely amazing and suits the high revving nature of the S65 perfectly IMO - have you test driven a DCT car?

this will be my fourth manual car. I've been driving stic for 8 years and dont want anything else. I actually havent driven the DCT. I'm sure I would love it, but still prefer stick, plus its cheaper

I felt the same....i would urge you to test drive the DCT and then make your mind up.

I have owned both 335 and M3 at the same time and there was a big difference in torque. However, adding the intake and Akra Evo System to my 2011 made a huge difference in the car's performance. Also, on the freeway, I am averaging 23 MPG which is not as good as the 335, but not bad for a V8.

The 335 does not compare to the M3 in luxury standards. Also, I have never experienced any problems driving around town in the M3. Both cars get me from A to B just fine.

Bottom line: Would I sell my M3 to get a 335? Absolutely not! Would I sell my 335 to get a M3. For sure!

Performance wise its obviously the M3, daily driving its probably the 335. I know the M3 works well in stop and go traffic too, but the thing is a gas hog. I'm currently averaging 12.1 MPG on my M3 which means I'm almost going to the gas station twice a week. But hey, I didn't buy the car based on its fuel efficiency. If I did I would probably be driving around in a Prius.

Yeah I think that a 335 is better for daily stop and go driving. The auto trans in the 335 is easier to use, the mpg is way better and just feels like a more laid back car even while modded. The m3 really feels as though its meant for track styled driving. Both are fantastic cars but they do have major differences.
