another 359M vs 220M thread
I have the 220M wheels on my M3. However, i really wanted the 359M that came in the comp pkg. After digging up prices (getbwmparts.cm) on these wheels I find that the 220M wheels are more expensive than the 359M wheels. And the 220M are forged while the 359M are not. Why would BMW charge more for comp pkg and include wheels that are not as well built?
Not to offend those with the 359M zcp because I think 359M look hot. |

No offense taken. According to more than a few on this board the 359m wheel is a very well constructed wheel even though it's not forged. A peculiarity of the 220m is that I think it looks FANTASTIC while the car is in motion. Both wheels are great and BMW make particularly attractive wheels for all the M variants.

With ZCP you get the 359 wheels, EDC with variable damping in Sport mode (fixed on non-ZCP EDC), and different spring rates and lowered ride height. Like PhilyNate already stated, the 359, although not a forged wheel, still is a very well manufactured wheel - it doesn't weigh significantly more than the 220s, considering the 359 is 1/2" wider front and rear.

Indeed and they look killer in person. I got AVG replicas and I'm really happy with those. I can only imagine how one would enjoy the OEMs. My 2c, get them in matte black with GTS spec tire sizes! Not a fan of the 220M personally.. a bit too blingy for me.

I just went through this, and did a lot of searching for the cheapest OEM ZCP I could find. I'll save you some time and recommend you skip getbmwparts.com and use Steve Thomas BMW: http://www.bmwpartspros.com/ I used them and they were great. Saved money too!

I keep waiting for someone to show me an OEM ZCP wheel that has cracked or otherwise failed due to its construction. In short, it's a non-issue, unless someone shows us otherwise.
Funny to debate one OEM wheel vs. another with some peoples' Xzibit deep dish lip 20" wheels on so many M3s pictured here. Those look like they'd break or bend if you just look at them wrong. |

the way I see it , not a lot of chance that a oem wheel would fail , i'm more concerned about curbs and I prefer to pay 500$ for a 359 then 900 for a 220 ! This is with 255 and 295 .
