Thinking of painting wheels porsche platinum satin?

I scuffed up a couple of wheels so they have to be refinished anyway. I was thinking of having them painted porsche platinum satin. What do you think?

I have a 2012 alpine white competition series.

I took your advice

I present to you competition series wheels in Porsche platinum satin.

I just got them on the car - car is very dirty. I am very pleased with the wheel color. The camera definitely does not do them justice.

That looks really good. Will probably hide brake dust, too.

In for shots of the wheels in the sunlight.

Wow, the color looks great!

In a similar situation with curb rash so had mine repainted as well. Did not select a color, just had the shop go two shades darker than the OEM silver. Looks similar to yours but a touch lighter....

OP, that looks fantastic! I really like that a lot.

And M3Carbon, no BBK for me either
That would be my next big purchase though. After driving a 991 C2S, that's the one thing that is lacking on the M3 IMO.

Here are some shots during the day

Car was a little dirty. BTW The wheels were painted in a satin finish. I love the way they turned out - was not real glossy, and when the light catches them they just kind of change shades of color. Without light they look very dark but not black. I didn't want real dark because I think it hides the personality of the wheels etc. The paint guy said there are 8 different paints in this color.

Great color choice. I definitely think the color is a bit more 'robust' than the typical gunmetal grey. The satin finish is unique as well. Car looks fantastic.

Thanks

I definitely appreciate the comments. I was a nervous wreck getting the wheels painted because I already loved them so much. The last thing I wanted was to spend the cash and be less happy with them.

I know you said painted - just checking to see if these wheels were actually painted or powdercoated. I think the color is just about perfect.

Painted

They were painted - I actually almost had them powder coated but I wanted to match the Porsche paint so I went with this option. The paint guy told me though powder coating would be stronger etc.

Thanks - I'm looking to get my ZCPs powdercoated, but your Platinum Satin is what I'm looking for...hmmm.
