If that’s the new M5, it’s gonna be a hard decision come lease end for me. Love my F95 and want to keep, what I suspect will be, the last fully petrol V8 X5M. On the other hand w a growing family and a lot of driving for work, the i7 makes a lot of sense. The squinty lights have grown on me. But this M5 render is pretty fierce. Doubt BMWFS would finance my lease buyout and a specced out i7 or M5 though.

Also not too hot on getting down into a car vs. just hopping into the X5MC. I’m tal though so the extra leg room in the 7 is a plus and my wife’s 5 series from two generations ago was very spacious.

Thinking I may buy out the F95, wait a bit for rates to drop (or a recession) and go for the i7. Wifey wants a Taycan so that’s an option. But the PFS lease rates are double BMWFS.

If you respect the oldtimers you also have to understand that there is an evolution. The E39 will never come back, its a "bad" and unreliable car compared to the G60 or the new M5. Its a classic, sure but you still need to accept that the world is moving forward.

Now i will feed the trolls ofcourse, but remember that once the G60 hits the streets it will be the superior machine in competition only with a few other German brands.
All the cars that people say this car now looks like will only be cheap knock-offs. The G60 will be the ultimate driving machine, and the honda accord will be a budget japanese daily driver for people that cant afford, or care enough to get one of the best cars money can buy in the 4-door sedan segment. And this design will represent everything that means to anyone who knows what a 2024+ 5Series is if its an M5 or an i5 40 or even a 520i with full merino leather, the fact that its possible has to be respected..


I think we will see more options for the G60 like 4wheel steering, softclose, more interior colors and headliners etc. Thats my only complaint at this moment. But i think we will get more choice, and there is a real plan behind the introduction of this car like with every 5 Series since the 1970s...



I dont live in Germany, but i can leave my house in the morning and get there by car before sunset the same day. I had many nice trips in different cars on their roads, in many different german cars. I sometimes watch this old video because it brings the "ASMR" feeling of driving on the autobahn. Its getting old, but it captures the sounds and the summer evening very nicely uninterupted by talking or music the only thing that is missing is the physical sensation of going 250kmh+. AutotopNL does modern hq stuff, but its not like this at all.
The F10 is already third in line now, but if you want a car that can do this same thing even better you can soon walk into a dealer and custom order, or pick up a new M5 that can do this every evening under warranty for 5 years in my case. You cant do that in an E39, a Honda Accord,or any old or new budget car.

Yes, old and current gen M5s are kinda boring to me already.

They are outdated.

I can't wait to see the final official reveal.
