How did this happen?
I've been looking for a pre-owned E92, and I came across this 2010 Coupe at a local place. It's pretty beat up, but what's weird is that is has the i-drve controller from an 08. Carfax shows it's been in like three accidents so I wouldn't waste time looking at it, just thought it was weird.

likely what happened was the car was stripped for various parts as a salvage, so whoever put the car back together gathered the cheapest OEM equipment they could find. The 08 idrive controller would work on the newer CiC with no issues and is ALOT cheaper than the newer idrive parts. You can put it together for around $200, vs the newer parts would cost about $400 all on used market. So it's just another sign this car is more trouble than it's worth... I wouldn't even touch this car for $29k...good riddence. |

I guarantee you a dealership got this as a trade in or lease return, and someone who worked there with an older m3 swapped the parts out before they put it up for sale (seen this happen plenty of times).
Or likes others said, it could have been wrecked and replaces with the cheapest parts possible. That is one rough as car.

Doesn't look that bad in reality. If you are expecting a perfect sample, think again. This looks like normal wear and tear throughout the country on used M3s. Plus its a Florida car. Totally normal.
