Personally, I'm not gonna buy any exhaust that requires cat deletes or x pipes to SOUND the way I want it too. CAT back should be good enough unless you are boosted.

"drone" sounds good to me and makes me feel like i got what i paid for...imagine throwing down 6k for an exhaust and not being able to hear it from inside the car...i didnt buy it so strangers could enjoy the fantastic sounds of the S65

That sounds AMAZING!!!!

The only thing that makes power on the car, as far as the exhaust is concerned, is removing the primary cats. And, it makes a significant power delta. And it changes the sound of the exhaust significantly.

My problem with the race is that I do plan on doing cat deletes (OF COURSE FOR OFF-ROAD TESTING PURPOSES ONLY!!) and the race would likely become too aggressive.

It's not a matter of having to do something to make it sound right, rather it's a matter of allowing it to sound right with your desired mods. If you do cat deletes, it will affect the sound of your exhaust and I want to be prepared for that.

Agreed.... my response in regards to the OP who wants sound only and doesn't care at all about HP gains or performance.

So my opinion is why make more changes further up the pipeline when a catback is sufficient for sound purposes.

Drone sounds good to you? wtf? lol.... I don't think it's drone that you are enjoying...

Try cruising at 3K in 6th on 2% incline or more for a hour or so.....THAT's drone and it will make your stomach sick and head throb.

I think that many people who buy catbacks just for sound end up wanting more power/sound somewhere down the line. So make sure you get a catback that you will be comfortable with even after adding an x-pipe.

One other thing to keep in mind... INNOTECH! It gets scare women and children loud open, and causes grown men to lose their bowels... but closed, it's very quiet and gives great performance.

I think maybe I was little bit missleading when I said I didn't care about 1 or 2 horsepower. I really don't, but I do care about 15. When I realized that Akra Evo system developed that much power and sounded that good it made me rethink what I was looking for. It may be twice the price, but it definitely give well over twice the power. This thread has really enlightened me and I am thrilled to see so many people with so many different setups.

You'll need an expert opinion on that, but my guess is you can't avoid a CEL with anything less than 200 cells. And the big news is you can still see thru a 200-cell cat, so if they pass the CEL test, you wouldn't be adding much restriction. Good luck.

Talked to Andrew at IND. He said it definitely causes a CEL, but they have a simulator that will get rid of it so it sounds like I'm going to move forward with Akra. I'm really trying to avoid putting software in the car at this point. I've never had an exhaust with 100 cell cats, only 200 cell. On my RS4's and RS6's I would occasionally get a CEL for cat efficiency with the 200 cells. Andrew pretty much guaranteed I'd get them with 100 cell if I didn't have the simulator in. Looking forward to getting the exhaust and even more so, getting the darn car. I also want to give IND a good plug. Those guys are awesome!
