Decided on Exhaust, but have more questions
Hi guys. Car isn't even here yet, but I'm trying to get everything ordered so when it does get here I can have the dealership install all of the parts while it is being PDI'd.
I've decided that I am definitely doing Eisenmann. Of all of the exhaust, that is the one I think has the best sound. I really don't care if one exhaust gives me 1 or 2 more horsepower over the other. So now that I've decided on the exhaust I am debating between Sport and Race. The foreman at the dealership is trying to talk me into putting a high-flow cat X-pipe in addition to the exhaust, most likely the AA one from what I've read. Here's my question. I have ordered a DCT and would like to avoid overwhelming amounts of drone. And I already have a car that can wake up the entire neighborhood when I start it, so I don't need two of them. My theory is that if I do Eisenmann Sport with an X-pipe it will be about as loud as the Eisenmann Race without one. I'm wondering if anyone has had the exhaust and then added the X-pipe with high-flow cats. How much louder is it? Am I on track with my theory? Would love some input on all of this. Thanks! -Chris |

Can't help ya since I'm still using the stock exhaust, but it's cool that your dealer wants you to get more mods! Guess he can't say no to any warranty claims!

Well, they did warn me that anything I do to the car that fails will not be covered under warranty. That's ok with me. I'm not doing anything to the engine, other than the drop in air filter from AA. The foreman there is pretty good. He works on my Bull and it has always ran perfect. It is nice talking to tech's that don't just tell you crap like, "The car wasn't designed from the factory that way so you shouldn't do it." Had a tech at Porsche tell me that when I drove Porsche's. I got angry enough to sell my Porsche and I haven't been back since.

Thanks very much to all of you for the responses. The good news is time is on my side. I have at least 2 weeks to decide, and now it sounds like I may not go with Eisenmann after all. |

I have the Eisenmann Race, but if I were going to pony up the money for both pieces, I'd get the Akra without question. Far better overall package.

Ok, contacting IND to get a price for the Akra Evolution. Just listened to tons of Youtube clips of the Evo system and all I can say is WOW. I think when I listened to all of the exhaust systems a couple of weeks ago I was listening to the slip-on which is why I didn't think it was loud enough. Big question is, do I have to do software with the 100 cel cats to keep from getting a CEL light? If I do then I won't do the system. Again guys, thank you.

I haven't heard Akra in real life, but I have Eisenmann Race, and if you mate it up with an X-pipe it would be too loud. So If you are going with Eisenmann + x-pipe, go with the sport. I have Eisenmann Race with Primary cats delete now and the sound is incredible. Deep, LOUD, and not raspy.

I have the Eisenmann Sport & to me it sounds pretty quite. I don't care for the engine overpowering the exhaust. I replaced it w/ the GT2 which the neighbors love. I plan on removing the primary cats & will put the Eisenmann back on when I do.

eisnmann race vs sport is more tone then volume imo. not sure why you'd want do an aftermarket xpipes if you don't want you car to be louder.
that's why most people do it. might want to look into a primary catdelete

dropping that much dough, I'd suggest you try to find locals with the exhausts your interested in and try to get a ride in it. I have Dinan and AA-X-pipe because of the drone issue you are worried about.

If you don't care about dropping 3K on a muffler, just go with the sport. It won't wake your neighbors like the Lambo, and will be subtle-yet-different enough to satisfy your daily driving needs.

I think I've been swayed to the Akra Evolution. Just got off the phone with Ind. The price is more than fair and everyone says I won't get the raspy sound I'm trying to avoid. The bull has a Loc5 exhaust that is just sex, but it's so loud it borders on uncomfortable sometimes. Taking the weekend to mull it over and then ordering next week. Thanks guys!

I would love to, but the only one I have heard was the supercharged one. Not impressed. Sounds like I'll be happy with either of the 2 we are talking about though.

Get Eisenmann RACE and be done with it. Don't let people talk you into the Akra if you have already heard it in person. You don't need to spend money on cat deletes or x pipes if all you want is more sound under throttle.
You will have drone @3k but you can avoid that by downshifting a gear. I get more compliments on the sound of my car than anything else....
