Those Porsche's are absolutely stunning.

They've got to be some of the most under appreciated cars on the road today.

None of my friends, some car enthusiasts, have a clue of what they are capable of.

Excellent culmination of artwork, craftsmanship, performance and comfort.

Beautiful.

I love the black wheels too, but, I hope you realize that they have been moved to Dec. builds or later. I am glad that you got the DE mounts though.

Congrats again on a beautiful ride. I don't know about you, but I can't freaking wait!
Feel free to PM me with any questions.

It should be here in late Dec. Just in time to put in my garage and keep me up at 3 AM so that I can go and look at it. A shotgun ride should be around Apr. It would be great to meet up.

I'm surprised I have to qualify my statement. I used zero exaggeration. The thread asks for reasons NOT to get the GT-R, which obviously will draw on folks criticisms of the car, not its strengths. Of course there is the obvious reason the everyone always tries to upset the king.

On an unrelated note to this, DE mounts - really cool use of that technology.

Yes, there is a very good one. That fact that it is a piece of shit with no warranty.

Knock him down, then build him up? It might appear as though you are as guilty of the very thing you are accusing Rapistwit of.

Thoroughly confused. I've made precisely ZERO accusations on this topic in this thread.

I wasn't specifically referring to you. And a negative question doesn't mean one has to exaggerate.
I think the GT-R is a pretty nice vehicle but it does have its negatives.
-The warranty is cryptic and ever changing. At this point I have no idea whether Nissan would cover the car. I have never felt that way about my German cars (even after my POS M6 engine failure).
-The interior is pretty basic and uses a lot of plastic and fabric (and I bought the "premium" version).

If you can handle those two drawbacks the car is superior to the M3.
And I think the new M3 is a really great car.

I think I can live with the lesser quality interior & the "no warranty" on drive train if launch control is used.

Anyone have any pearls of info that could be used as ammo to talk me out of getting a GTR?
Ferrari-like maintenance costs.

I really like the white. Congrats again.

I'm going to check back with my dealer. He added the mounts and placed the
order. Their allocation is for an October build. I don't really care if it is a December build because I live in a very wintery area and won't be able to drive it until March or April anyway.

You will be scanning the weather reports endlessly looking for signs of an approaching spring. It will be painful, but at least you can sit in it in your garage!

I learned today that my car will be completed by Nov 17th. If yours is an Oct build then of course, it'll likely be complete by the end of Oct or sooner. Unfortunately you can't move that to a later build and get the wheels, unless you can swap build dates with another dealer or get a completely new later build. My dealer also confirmed that the wheels are not yet available (projected in Dec).

That is a fantastic color. Don't see it on the 911 very often. Here it is in the flesh on a 4S, for anyone interested:

For what it is worth, we have a database of over 300 GTR clients, and growing. I have to admit, I am extremely impressed with the technology and innovation that the GTR represents. In the end, if I had a choice, I would choose the M3 because of its refinement, and its ability to tune and modify on a less complex level.

Just my two cents.

Agreed.... GT3 is out of my range though.

Performance wise, the GTR is an untouchable value.

Ride quality is tighter than the M's sport mode for sure. If it were ANY stiffer, I wouldn't have left a deposit on one

Should have it in about 10 days or so

I think my M3 gets pretty good attention and looks. Any more looks and I will end up getting California out of their bankruptcy.
