Trailer tie down location ideas

Good evening M3post! I just bought a car trailer and am thinking for ideas for tie down points. I typically use straps through the wheels, but am learning that is not a great idea as it can pull the car out of alignment. Before anyone suggests the hooks that go into the jack pads, i do not have enough room to get under there to mess with that on the trailer, nor do i feel like pulling the jack pads every track day.

I was thinking of getting a few of these, but am interested to see where you guys would put them. I could anchor them to the rear lower control arm 21MM bolt, but that may have the same effect and pull the car out of alignment as well. Maybe rear subframe bolt facing down? But, that would not give the suspension any travel while on the trailer, which I am reading is also important.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Do you tie to the front of the trailer, or to the side? I have a single D ring up front, so it would be pulling diagonally on the wheels toward the center of the car.

No alignment issues?

My d rings at the front pull almost straight ahead of each wheel. At the rear I locate a j hook on the dovetail rail and can slide wherever, but put straight back of the tire. Only time I had alignment issue was on original shipping they ratcheted down too tight at angles.

Another option would be to get a sling style that loops over tires and attaches straight down to flush mounted rings on the decking, fore and aft of each tire.

Not really an answer to your question but I had a few extra D rings welded to a trailer of mine at a trailer place. I don't remember what it cost it wasn't very much. Trailer is used, among other things, to carry a small tractor; no BMW experience yet.

I will probably have a d ring welded in front of each tire to Loop the wheel. Into the front tire stop. It has a wood deck, so I'm not sure if I can do a flush mount into treated lumber lol.

They can get you set up, thinking wheel nets, etrack, and remote the ratchet straps. Give them a call, they will set you up. I use their stuff for the jeeps.
