Swimming Pool
the weather was so nice today, I decided to go swimming for about an hour.
Once done, I sat out by the pool and sipped a diet coke. My lips felt a bit chapped so I reached into my trunks and pulled out my chapstik, and my key FOB??? crap over an hour in the pool, I am screwed. ran out to my car... no problem except it looked cleaner. It seems to be water resistant... very cool!!! FYI |

Ya..im not surprised though that it still works. a couple years back my buddy was thrown in the pool with his brand new civic keys and remote control and he tweaked out after. But to his surprise, and ours (mine included). The key and remote worked just fine for the next four years!

This reminds me of going over to a friends house for BBQ, first thing people do is throw their car keys on the table, lol because everyone gets pushed in.
I was pushed in with my lexus key one time, and it still worked.

When did this "throw people in the pool" tradition get started? Must be a NYC thing. Here in texas, when we have a bbq... we eat.

lol! I've done something similar... dropped it in pond full of Koi while crossing a bridge. None of the Koi tried to eat it and after I retrieved it, it worked just fine. They all seem to to make them waterproof these days. An extreme example is the "keyless" Keyfob for my ML63. I left it in my jeans pocket... which I threw in the clothes washer with detergent for a full cycle with spin dry. Amazingly, it managed to stay inside the jeans pocket and still works just fine. Keyless entry and start still work perfectly. But it's a good thing I hang-dry my jeans instead of putting them in the heated clothes dryer because I don't think it would've survived that! lol

Surely that's the thing you give to your wife when her lips are chapped, the fact that your lips can even reach it makes me jealous. |

i would not disassemble it either, since it is sealed, you don't want to take it apart because you might actually unseal it |

One of our keys got a wash and dry cycle. No issues yet, over a year ago.

Reminds me of this time we dunked a friend in the pool at a party and his arm shot up out of the water ala Terminator 2! Poor sod had an old (I'm guessing valuable) mechanical wrist watch on!
