Good news - M3s available at MSRP or lower

I was just at a dealership in Nor Cal and saw the order sheet for 7 sedans and 4 coupes. They were ordered by the manager spec'ed all the way to $70K and the ETA is April 28th. NONE of them are spoken for, so in 4 weeks 11 M3s will be landing on this moderately-sized dealership's lot with no buyers.

The two M3s they currently have on the lot (one coupe, one sedan) have yet to sell either.

I am not sure if the problem is that they ordered them with $15K worth of equipment and folks don't want that, or the economy is making people weary of buying at $75K car (OTD) that gets 15 MPG.

Anyways, for potential buyers I think it is good news they won't need to pay even MSRP and should be able to buy one as soon as they want it.

Economy, economy, Its the one thing thats keeping me from trading in my E46 M3. Yeah 70K + is a little hard to swallow, but the M is definitely worth it, just a little on the steep side. I wouldnt want a used M but there are many waiting for the depriciation and to get their hands on a slightly used 53-56K M.

NorCal is pretty big my friend. What city are we speaking about here?

Also, for a moderately sized dealership, 11 M3's is a pretty hefty location.

About 20 miles south of where you live

Given the number of normal 3 series in stock at dealerships around here, 11 M3s does not seem like that many.

Gotcha!

In North Bay/East Bay/SF area, 3 series are indeed well stocked; however M's can be counted on one hand; and these are some of the highest ranked dealers in NorCal....was just basing my comment on that.

One dealer in specific, had an MSRP advertised sale this past weekend for the M's that have been stagnant on their lots. Hmmm, maybe I should renegotiate my order for below MSRP

so my first question why are you snooping around dealerships and two why start pissing some ppl off who paid there fair price of sticker?when this is all speculation!! there have been no discounts on the east coast at all! and the reason for the stock pile is we are coming into prime selling season coming from some one in the biz! this post could cause some ruffled feathers!
just my 2 cents!

If you want specific options then good luck matching up with one of those 11 Ms. If you're flexible then you can probably negotiate a deal. Personally I'd buy it like I want it.

Forget $15K below MSRP. I'm going to buy mine for one ounce of gold, seeing as money is going to be worthless soon and gold worth $50,000. I bought a bunch of gold and silver five months ago and then gold was going for $795 an ounce. Now it's up over $1,000! A telltale sign of the declining dollar.

This is my first post. I hope it will help someone in the Bay Area. I was negotating a deal with an internet sales manager last Saturday, and he offered me $1500 off MSRP. Other dealers offered me $1000 and $500 off. I did not order it because I was looking for $2000 off. :-)

If I got $2000 off the MSRP, I will do it. Anyone?

Please let me know.

I think $1500 off is a great deal...dont go through the hassle of negotiating with more dealers for another $500....just buy the car and enjoy it!

If you want to help. PLEASE list the dealers that you said offered you $500,$1000 and even $1500. Please list the THREE dealers. I would really like to know which dealers that offer you below MSRP. I DON'T BELIEVE THERE IS ONE DEALER IN BAY AREA THAT WILLING TO DEAL BELOW MSRP. Or at least I can't find one.

Yeah, do share. I have a deposit on one now...but will either negotiate a price reduction with my guy, or go elsewhere....If they are to be had cheaper in Nor Cal, I will just go through them! If it is $500, no biggie...but if we are talking 1K or more, it will be worth it.

Share the dealers name........inquiring minds want to know.

ok! The best offer is the dealer in San Rafael(sp?) $1500 off.
Concord - $1000 off - I heard it from my friend that they will charge you $500 for the marketing fee.
Modesto - $500 off
East Bay -MSRP

I deal with internet sales managers only.
