"By "good" I mean good." - ok now I get it haha..

sorry man, I strongly disagree. The 2012 GTR that I had the honor of driving was powerfull, instant throttle response, agile and the sound was exhilarating. .

If I ever win a Veyron, I would sell it. I would keep my M3 buy a GTR and spend the rest of the money for gas :-))))

P.S - the GTR that u drove - did it have the race setting on instead of the comfort? That makes a big difference. .also was it brand new or broken in?

Anyway, thanks for responding.

I only responded because we're both in Portland.

I paid for the 90 minute max but there was a 2 minute gap between when the ticket expired and the metered hours ended. I was written a ticket during that 2 minute gap. You can say "technically your guilty" all you want. But that is the epitome of an absurd ticket. I also have a close friend that got a a very similar ticket (I saw the citation and I believe his was 3 minutes).

You're not the only one that hears lame excuses all day. Don't assume i'm just some goober that's pissed he got a ticket. I work for the court that processes all the tickets your write and I agree that 99% of the crap people say is garbage. I probably would have been skeptical it if it hadn't personally been me. But its also no surprise that parking enforcement gets a bad wrap when such ridiculous things are cited. Its those instances that make your profession look bad. Its far to easy to leave a ticket on someones car and slink away without ever having to confront the person.

Maybe you're one of the good ones. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are. But, working for the courts has given me more than enough reason to despise meter maids and cops. For every decent one there is, there are 2 more that make it their mission in life to ruin as many people's days as possible. Most of them will openly admit this when they're out of the public's earshot.

Ugh.... off my soap box now I got carried away.

in california, they are working on a metered system that doesn't leave left over minutes......so if you pay for an hour and you leave in 30 minutes, it resets....the next person won't get your free minutes. what kind of shit is that?

Congrats, again. the M3 is definitely a great way to reward yourself! I had a 335 when I passed and spent a bunch of money on mods to reward myself, but probably should have just bought the M3 at the time!

"I paid for the 90 minute max but there was a 2 minute gap between when the ticket expired and the metered hours ended. I was written a ticket during that 2 minute gap"

How in the world did U get a ticket at 658pm when everyone is in the office at 655 for end of day roll call..that means officers start heading in at approx 645ish

"You can say "technically your guilty" all you want"

I haven't said that. But since you work for the courts I'm sure u are aware that parking violations and traffic violations are preponderance of evidence, so intention doesn't matter.

"But, working for the courts has given me more than enough reason to despise meter maids and cops"

Ok, you're being a hypocrite my friend. Do you also despise the window clerks because the courts add on extra late court fees and/or interest?
Do you also despise judges that sometimes rule in the officers favor because the evidence was overwhelming against the offender?

I'm sorry u feel so negatively about cops and us "meter maids". I would strongly suggest u do a ride along with a cop and a walk along with a "meter maid", maybe that will give u a different perspective. It's easy to judge on the outside.

Take care

I know, I'm still confused -- $39k is the median salary in Portland, OR for a Parking Enforcement Officer. Unless he lives in his parents' basement and has no bills, I'm not sure how this new 2013 M3 adds up...

I'm actually married and I live in SW Portland. I wish I lived in my parents basement..then I could have afforded the GTR
I make $25/ hr and the wifey makes close to $33 /hr. We both work very hard for the things we have and we know how to appreciate them. I paid off my previous car which I traded it in for 12k and put 3k cash..I still financed 45k..but my interest is really low..
I'm probably one of the few here that did not pay cash for the M3.

Fair enough, we're just giving you shit because of your job title

There are more lease/finance guys here than you might think. I'm one of them, horrible at saving money, but great at earning it

Welcome to the forum, btw.
