Saw it only via pictures. I pulled service info etc. other than front wheel being scratched, car looked immaculate.
Wanted to go see it, but when he told me that someone placed deposit on it, I didn't feel like driving 4 hours for a car that I might not get. However, if salesman tells me that the deal fell through, I'm trecking no matter what. |

So far I purchased 2 cars sight unseen, across country. 3rd one was also purchased brand-new sight-unseen, but at local dealer. Since it was new I don't count it towards, sight unseen purchases (got that one for over 7k under MSRP). Telling salespeople how committed I am to purchase and being open about expectations upfront, so far yielded really good results. I tell them what I expect to pay for the car on the road. I don't bother with MSRP prices etc. Only deal with on the road price. If they try to re-negotiate later on, I walk. So far, at both places, they put in writing that if I do not like the car, they would pay for my flight back home, etc. That puts pressure onto them to make sure they disclose everything that might potentially turn me away. Keeps them honest. |

7k under MSRP! Well done! How much was MSRP if you don't mind sharing, so I get the context? |

I got a new 4 door 2016 VW GTI w/ DSG to be my DD. Original MSRP was $27,835 +ttt I paid $21,338 +ttt My memory was off. I guess it was exactly $6,497 (roughly 23.4%) under MSRP. |
