I actually really love the wheels. Have always been a fan of the "turbo fan" type design.

You do have a great sense of humor, so I figured I throw some gas on the fire.

One day you'll look back at the photos of your car and realize what went wrong.

When I was 15-17 years old I wanted these so badly:

Don't worry, there is hope for you. I grew out of it.

Well, as others have said, it is your car and if you are happy with it then fine. However, if you get online and post that many pictures, you are obviously looking for some kind of response. To me, the car looks completely tasteless, ghetto, etc, etc.

What is the purpose of lowering to that degree? To make it look like a race car? Isn't that how the whole "slammed" phenomenon began? People were trying to make their cars look like race cars. They went overboard, however. Same thing with the stretch on the tires. A little is good. Too much and the car begins to look like a caricature of a nicely modded car.

I the end, that is what I feel you have created. A caricature of an automobile. And the "highway star"......you've got to be kidding me.

I don't "hate" as people say. There is nothing to hate. But I do look at your car and laugh. I think it looks just plain silly.

Sorry.

I figured these kinds of responses would arise.

HighwayStar Garage is the name of a garage that my close friends operate out of Orlando, the sticker is nothing other than me showing love to those that support me.

Your other point, race cars? HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ONE IN PERSON?! If you had you would have noticed that those cars are plowed in order to be closer to the ground (take the z4 GTE as an example) those things make my car look like a donk on 26's with how low they are. The only thing that can deemed 'unsafe' is the
Stretched tyre which i'll admit is purely aesthetic, people have been
stretching tyres since before you learned to wipe your own ass. It isn't a 'fad' or something that has come up recently.

...the more you know...

I will bite since I have been in the import car scene since 1991.

A couple points here to counter yours. The stretched tire look was a Volkswagon "fad" we saw in the late 1990's. Some folks brought it to the Honda crowd and BMW crowd. Some cars it looked really well done but like you said it was purely for aesthetic purposes and not functional at all. I can link all day Volkswagon Golfs from 1999.

Here is a sample within the past 5 years... Still see it with the Volkswagen crowd.

We all know about race cars and they do sit a lot lower with a kit but a wider kit to accompany wider wheels/tires. Have you seen a racecars wheel well?

Anyway again I think it looks fine but how functional it is with thinner tires is up for debate.

I say do what you want. Its your car but trying to see it from both sides here.

Ok, I just went back and looked at your pictures and my car is almost as low as yours so I have no room to talk and you are fine. The pictures I posted here are the extreme. LOL

Honestly your car is fine.

Its interesting to see car's like Martin D's which are much lower than yours, and the forum unanimously loves it, but has a completely different reaction to the height on your car.

I personally don't have a problem with your ride height. A nicely lowered car can look amazing. I just think there is way too much stretch going on with the tires. Wayyy too much. It gets into the whole stance nation thing, which I don't thing looks good. Nor can I decipher any performance benefit from wheels that poke out that far.

You mentioned above that people have been stretching tires for a long time. I don't think that makes it look any better though Also, its only really recently become a fad to stretch out tires THAT much. (Along with the other horrrible fads of insane camber, and poking).

That's the only thing though. With that exception, I think your car is very cleanly done, and looks great.

funny enough, these are BY FAR the two most educated responses/creative criticism i've seen on this thread. cheers to you two fellas

and yea, this is only a mild stretch by all means, there are people stretching 215 on 10.5/11's which even I have to draw the line. There's fools for all tastes I suppose.

Never said that it is as low as a race car. I was discussing how the whole "slammed" phenomenon began. The point was to try and make a street car look like a race car. The problem is that 99.9% of these cars will never see a track at all.

Though I do not remember exactly, I'm guessing that I probably learned to wipe my own ass somewhere around 1968-69. I do not believe people were stretching their tires at that time.

I go back to my original point. When you post up pictures of your car on the internet, please accept all types of responses, positive and negative. I am sure some people won't like what I have done to my car either.

You posted a thread stating ".....you may not be pleased by this". As such, why are you getting defensive at all when someone is, in fact, not pleased.
