So I have heard mixed opinions about how hard Road Atlanta is on brakes.
Some ppl say its not hard at all, and other say that is pretty bad.
Any more feedback or tips for running at Road Atlanta?

NASA requires a tech inspection also right? Can any tech do it, or does it have to be done at one of their centers?

Their Tech Inspection is kind of a joke, they will check your brake lights...thats about it. You can have a tech inspection done. There is a BMW Race shop off of GA 400 (exit 12) that can help you out.

You have to make your own numbers and Long sleeves are not required just recommended.

If you need to have some numbers send me a PM or you can just use Painters Tape

Let me know if you have any other questions

I run RS14 with my APs ... LOVE THEM.. the initial bite is awesome.. Its like someone pulls the parachute on me

I can't believe they don't give you numbers at least.
I had the tech inspection done at Performing Imports when I had some other work done.

Im guessing we have to wear long pants though?

Thanks for the input.

It might not be too late, call them.
I think HPDE1 is full last time a friend of mine checked, but it never hurts to call.

Why do they want pants and long sleeve shirts?
Apparently the numbers are pretty expensive according to the people who run the CCA events.

Basic reasoning is fire protection. Some clubs require them, and some tracks also require long sleeve and pants. In fact, VIR only recently changed their position on dress requirements, and now allow short sleeve shirts, but pants still required. If the track allows short sleeve, then it is up to the club what the requirement is.

Was a fantastic weekend.
First time at Road Atlanta, it is a fast and technical track.
Took all day Saturday to get a feel for it. Turn 12 is scary, it can be fast and is totally blind. I was def not taking it fast though.
I didnt really take any pics unfortunately.

It was uncomfortably hot this weekend, 95F easily.

Victor, it was very nice meeting you.

I was there with a few of my friends. They were driving a S5, RS4, and Z06. The Z06 had a few mods and sticky tires, it was really quick.

Nice meeting you too and your gang. All your friends are great guys and good drivers. Track was great fun and yes it was hot but only when we were standing around waiting for our run group once in the car all thoughts of heat were gone.

Believe it or not I got home, took all my wheels off, washed all the brake dust off and then switched my pads back to the stock street pads. I really liked the Pagids. No change in performance all day long. Front pads look like the top 1/8th" was baked in an oven (looking from the side) and the rears looks new, just a few shallow grooves.

The other thing that surprised me is my stock Continental tires were really pretty good. Never got slick or "greasy" late in the session and were very consistent. I did have to let air out of the front and back tires over the course of the day but only a few pounds.

Definitely a track I would go back too.

We both picked up good speed by Sunday. We should def go back.
Turn 12 would scare me each time.

It was close, but she made it, LOL.
I think a set of coils would do nicely, but the stock suspension was very impressive, especially compared to my E46 M3 which was a bit of a wash out stock.

The stock suspension is very good I agree. I did notice a difference with the Motons though. I just spent the weekend at Mid Ohio and am itching to get back to the track. There is a day tuesday so I may see if I can swing it!
Sounds like such a great weekend - very jealous, would love to go there one of these days!

Coils would definitely be a nice upgrade.

Good to see things worked out.
How were the StarSpecs? My friend has them for his E46 M3 and they still look really good after 6 track days.

They were excellent and held up very well. They only got a little greasy by the end of Sunday where i was picking up a lot more speed and the 95F temp was not helping either. I found that they worked best around 38-40PSI hot.
