Are any of you going to the 2006 LA Auto Show tomorrow (Friday, Jan 6)?

I'm taking off the morning and early afternoon hrs to check out the new rides.

SHOW DATES
Friday, January 6 - Sunday, January 15, 2006

TIMES
Fridays - 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Saturdays - 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Sundays - 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Monday thru Thursday - 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

LOCATION
Los Angeles Convention Center
1201 South Figueroa Street
Los Angeles, California 90015

ADMISSION
Adults: $10.00
Children: 12 and under - free when accompanied by an adult
Seniors(65+): $7.00 on weekdays (Monday - Friday)

DISCOUNT COUPONS
$2-off weekday discount coupons are available at participating Southern California new car dealerships. Coupons are only valid Monday through Friday.

Not much of anything new was at the BMW display except for this M6. Dinan had a modified M3 on display. Well, it's back to my office tonight.

The poor photo quality is because these were taken with my Treo 650.

The orange turn signals really really screw up the look of this car for me, it's a crying shame. I'll take a rain check for the E92 M3 afterall.

On topic: I'm waiting til next week, during the week so that I won't have to fight the crowds and all that hoop lah, everyone is at work and school then, more space and room for me.

Hey how come you guys got the M6 at L.A. and we only got the 645 at San Diego?

The last auto show I was at in San Diego (1-2 years ago) was actually very nice.

Vehicles at this LA show that stuck out in mind were the Lexus LF-A Concept car with rear facing radiator and silly looking fans that cool them, the Mitsubishi Eclipse concept car, the new Escalade and Chevy SUVs with newly redesigned interiors/dash boards, the Mercedes CLS which practically decapitated me as I tried to get into the rear seats, an Audi SUV (Touareg size), the Chrysler Firepower and some of Honda's vehicles. I was actually quite impressed with the Hondas (S2000, Element, Civic Si) --lots of gadgets, but handy.

How was the M6? All the M6's I've seen testing have all been Euro spec.

Well, I visited four separate halls, sat or crawled into practically everything I could, dropped my cell phone, which someone was nice enough to turn in so I could recover it, talked to sales reps, had lunch, etc. all in the span of about 3 hours. Wish I had more time to take photographs, but had to get ready for work tonight.

That sparkling graphite metallic e90 was a 325i. Look at the wheels.
