Currently we have a 335i e90 fbo, and e70 x5 d
I drive 70 miles daily so fuel efficiency does play some factor..

option 1: 750li 2012 45k miles .. Every possible option including active cruise control, driver assistance package, rear entertainment etc120k msrp, 40 grand .. silver color

option 2: s550 2012 with distronic, 40k miles for 42 grand .. Car fax shows multiple electrical issues

option 3: s350 bluetec, no options, not even rear view cam, 39k miles, for 42 grand, great fuel economy with the diesel, clean car fax

option 4: 2007 Porsche carrera 4s cabriolet, 40k miles, red on black, 45 grand, 25 mpg highway, great car, I know I'm going overboard with this one, umm carfax shows alignment issues, tires swapped and aligned multiple times

I'm confused as hell . logically I should just drive the e90 to ground, car is fbo and a lot of fun, alpine white on black and mhd tune pushing 400 hp
Here is an alternate suggestion... CPO X5M?

If I ever have to do another long commute I would buy a Honda Civic SI and pile the miles on with no worries. When I'm done with it I would sell it to an overenthusiastic teen for an exorbitant price.

He's putting 70 miles a day on the car! Don't get me wrong, X5M for the win, but not in this situation.

Seems like a diesel or hybrid might make sense here. If not, then at least something with somewhat decent mileage and wont be expensive to maintain. Unless you do all the work yourself!

I would certainly go to town on her in that car.

From those 4 choices, I'd go for comfort in the 750.

350 miles a week isn't that much that fuel is going to kill you (especially with gas prices right now / for foreseeable future). If really concerned about fuel, you can find something more fuel efficient and newer than at least 3 of those choices in that budget range.

If looking outside the 4 choices, I'd look into a used / CPO 535 or A6 that fits within budget.

Im most tempted for the 7, that one specifically is armed to the teeth, front side rear cameras, rear entertainment, adaptive cruise control (btw does it help in stop and go ? Does the car stop on its own when traffic does ?)

You already have, and know the diesel is likely the best option...get a 335d or 535d, DPF and AdBlue delete, and tune it

Upwards of 40 mpg with M level acceleration...FTW!!!!

Lincoln town cars will last forever! But that wasn't an original choice from the OP.

I'd stay away from Benz and tuning on the diesel side....the market is not in demand, it's just not as widely done and tested.

Look into Malone Tuning for BMW's.

Buzzken can supply the exhaust hardware to delete the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and AdBlue requirement.

If your state does not have a Emissions inspection for Diesel vehicles - I'd get the BMW 335d or 535d, stage II tune from Malone, delete the DPF and enjoy

You're welcome

The new civic is faster... haha

These questions are always hard because I would liquidate what you have, buy something fuel efficient and mediocre to drive like a Honda Fit or new Civic and then get a fun P-Car for those days that mediocracy is killing you on your commute.

We just picked up a 2013 XTS Platinum for our "comfortable" car. That thing is great! Can't even get a comparable used BMW for less than 50k.
