my gf bought me a set of these for christmas. color is best described as 6000k, i may have preferred more like 5000k but i understand the closest you get to white natural light then the less light you will visibly see during the day. install was a bit clumsy but i managed just fine with out drawing blood. over all i am happy with light output and quality of product. if anyone local would like to check them out in person before making their purchase i would be willing to show them off. mind you i can't compare them to any other competing item and no i wasn't paid to say this.

Big hands, strung out!
Installed new LUX H8s today and have a suggestion that I didn't see here with a search. My hands aren't giant, but they sure as hell aren't small enough to fit more than three fingertips worth into the area around and near the bulb. I was pretty sure if I could just get the damn thing lined up and into opening I would be home free. As others suggested, putting the heatsink in first and downward is the key. Still, couldn't easily pull it back up with accuracy and wasn't willing to spend an hour or call the missus.
Instead, I snipped off about a 12-18 inch piece of string, looped it around the gaps between the heatsinks, using the first slot where these get larger in diameter, pushed in transformer/ballast, followed by heatsink with bulb up. Then holding both ends of the string like a sling in one hand, using fingertip on the actual end of the LED bulb was easily able to guide it upward enough to align with and enter hole. From there, the string cradle still provides stabilizing and lift while us with normal hands basically twist the bulb the tiny bit needed to get it seated using two or three fingertips. Done. First one took 5 minutes like this. Second one, literally 3. As an aside, the tab configuration left and right is different. You really need to look more closely at each bulb as you pull the originals out to get your orientation right. Before you toss them in the same box together and have to sort out which is which. Without this boneheaded move, the second one would have been under 2 minutes.

One word - AWESOME!
Install wasnt hard - try replacing the square headlights on an 86 300zx and come back to me on this This might be one of the easier installs I have done and I was up and running in 20 minutes total (like everyone else I had to feel around and understand the best way to put it in on the first try. Easy - Light's up awesome - MUCH better looking than the stock. Fade sucks but that was to be expected with LED's. VERY HAPPY |

This is the best upgrade I've made to my M3 other than the OEM exhaust mod. It looks great during the daytime, but during sunset it's just incredible. Earlier today when I was at Dunkin' Donuts I sat and looked at the reflection for 20 minutes and people were looking at me wondering what I was looking at hahahaha!
Good times! It was an easy install took about 25 minutes for both sides. Thanks LUX! |

We are working to get an ETA on the LUX H8 V3 and the 5000k version as well. The 5000k version is still a ways off as we are still organizing everything for them.
