Not necessarily. Has the same ID been the successful bidder on Huckster
auctions?

Good work. Keep digging. Remember that Watergate was first [cough]

There is no definate result yet, although the dealer agreed to cough out the car keys at the ebay bid price of 60k. The just want to negotiate some conditions, but there are no Updates by the OP on what those conditions are. Maybe there never will, because the general assumption is that the are going to ask the buyer to sign a gad order / non-disclosure agreement to silence and bury this case once and forever.

All the internet hell washed over them in just a single (holiday) weekend. If they had really failed to honor the deal it would have got really ugly I bet. Lots of bogus bids with fake ebay accounts, DoSing of their servers, etc. The internet vigilante mob can be really look mean.

Lokk what they said about Fil's hairdo.

eBay - the fraudster's paradise

Nope. But the other lawfirm knew I wasn't going to spend my time publicizing it, based on who I was (am?).

Of greater significance: eBay was singularly unhelpful to me. However, it did change its practices, making fraud harder for bidders to catch and police. In other words, eBay went out of its way to allow such practices in the future!

eBay is the fraudster's paradise. Its policies allowing counterfeits is laughable, too. Try to find a pair of Gucci shoes and you will see so many obvious counterfeits it will make your feet spin. When these are reported to eBay, they are ignored, but to teach the reporting party a lesson eBay spams him back.

$100 that one of the conditions is a confidentiality agreement so we may not see much more of dooma on here. Glad he won.

And they said Rome wasn't built in a day. Checking in here from 9thgencorolla.com and i must say, after taking three days to read all of this, I'm glad to see that you are almost there. We all hate to be taken advantage of by dealers. This should show dealers(although we know they don't care) that you can't mess with someone this way. I haven't used ebay personally to buy anything over 50 bucks, but there will always be fraud commited no matter where we are.

To the people concerned about the internet sales "manager," his job is to sell cars. He sells on the internet, it's not like it's some new guy who normally works the lot. Ads like that need some form of approval from a higher up, it's their FAIL.

Dooma, if you get that car out here and want some pictures done, you can let me know. Congrats again and make sure to find a good fraud attorney, just in case.

I saw this posted on Anandtech (computer geek hangout) and came over to read the whole thing... I have to say that dealership definitely owned itself badly. I'll try to nominate this for Ownage of the year 2008 over at Anandtech.
Good luck to op re the conditions.
