If I were you I wouldn't be to excited about getting a check engine light & twice for that matter .....
It seems like your tune adapted and is telling you to check your engine ..
Also when it adapts it brings your power down not higher , brings it into a safe margin if you in one to begin with !!

I went through this so I feel I can comment and give you some words of wisdom ( go get supercharged ) I did

As soon as I turn the car off and on again the light is gone and the car has no limits again. It only happened twice. From what I read it's normal. All is good now.

Oh and I will get supercharged, but it won't be an ess

Who you goto for a supercharger is your business , I wasn't referring you to a ESS kit !! just cause I have it ..
I was just being a Mate telling you to get it checked but hey it's your money and car
I just think going supercharged is the logical thing to do if your ursting more power ( that was my goal in my message/post)
good luck Playa

Probably need the torque limits looked at on the Powerchip tune - if you don't, you will hit them in cooler temperatures and they are a pain as they put your car into a limp mode until you clear the codes by turning the car off.

Powerchip does NOT tune Gintani's cars. All their tuning is done in house on their dyno.

The BMW Engine Management System is a torque-based system. It has target torque values and torque limits programmed. If the torque limits are programmed incorrectly to not accommodate the higher target torque values when the car is remapped, then those torque limits will be reached and a CEL thrown.

This is a description from Powerchip:

"Torque Management - The torque management map is one of the most important maps in the engine management system of your BMW. The factory limits torque to a certain number, if the car tries to make any more power (or to be exact any more torque, because the ECU uses a "torque-based architecture"), then your BMW will simply limit power by retarding timing or closing the throttle. Torque management is included in almost any car that has a good traction control system. Powerchip is one of a small number of tuners worldwide that understands torque management, and how to "unlock" your BMWs potential that is currently holding it back from delivering 100% of the power and torque available. This is another map that Powerchip changes to make your BMW work smarter and not harder."

I thought Gintani just applied an off the shelf Powerchip map

oh ok , i recall a thread about powerchips tunes throwing codes ( tourqe limit reached ) but never seen a case like that for gintani that why i got a little mixed up .....

The funny shit was powerchip was telling everyone to go beat the piss out of their cars so it can adapt.. ,,, for some reason i get an image of 30 to 40 guys jumping into their M's and racing up and down their blocks
