All this big power is great, but the M3 is just not the platform for it IMO. The M3 is great as a 500hp car, when properly tired up. Beyond that, you need AWD for anything other than a rolling start drag at an airstrip. From that standpoint, I think the GTR and 911 turbo are untouchable as big power modding platforms.

I'll join in too. I have the very bada$$ Recaro baby seat in the back. Probably putting down some serious breakneck numbers. Just saying. Or, I'll buy a crotch rocket, learn how to ride it in a few days, blact past all of you, then crash and die. Probably not the best approach, but still fun ride. Would love to see some of these rides in action for sure.

I was just taken for a ride in a 2008 m3, ESS supercharged, other mods, pushing 750 hp. It is so wicked fast it was unbelievable. We were talking at a redlight, and I noticed this guy in a 350Z TT aside of us, being all cocky and revving his engine, but my driver didn't notice him as we were talking engines and stuff. The light changed and the Z got a good 150 ft on us immediately, because my driver didn't know this guy was racing us. When I called his attention to the guy pulling away, he chuckled and said, "watch this....". We caught the guy and blew past him like he was going backwards. At the next light, when the guy rolled up with his tail between his legs, he was just shaking his head , commenting how unbelievably fast our car was.

Horsepower isn't the problem it's octane with boost. In the USA you can get e85 which will allow you to run tons of boost and not detonate or knock.
To the guy with the civic comment, yea there's guys running 900hp but it costs a lot as its a lot of power for a 4 cylinder and you'll need all the internal changed. The heads also need to be ported and cams/springs/valves are a requirement. For cost your probably better off with an s65 motor. I'm not sure about the internals of our motors but they should be stronger then a b18 or k20 straight out of the box. |
