Paintpro,

can you clarify if a square set up of the 10" rim ET 25 mounted on BFG or Hoosier R6 275/35/18 will clear the front strut without rubbing? or do we need spacers. You made it clear that the nitto NT1 will be fine, but how about other brands of racing compound?.

I run 18x10@25p with 275/35 18's with no rubbing or clearance issues.I have run Toyo R888's,RA1's,Nitto Nt05's and Continenal Slicks from the Grand Am CTSCC all in 275/35 18.

Yeah the R888's run almost as wide as Hoosiers, if they fit I'd think the purple crack should fit too. I'd love to try the hoosier in a 285/30 and 315/30 with these wheels. Sounds like at least one person on the board (ShadeD1) is using 18x10's on the front with the 285/30-18 hoosiers without a problem. Only one way to find out for sure with this kind of stuff and that's to test fit.

I cannot 100% confirm at this time if the Hoosiers in 275/35 or the R1 in 275/35 will have any issues up front.

Gearhead999s below says he's run R888's in that size and those run WIDE (a 265 R888 is wider then a 275 NT-01).

One customer mentioned running V710's in 275 with a minor rubbing issue, but I do not remember if that was strut tube rubbing or if it was fender liner rubbing while turning.

Hopefully someone can confirm the Hoosier and BFG fitment in that size on 18x10 et25.

You are correct, we either need to reference someone else's fitment for now, or someone has to do a little trial and error.

Raven Performance ran our 18x10's square on a E9X M3 with Michelin slicks what are either 275/35 or 285/30. Not sure if they spacer'ed that fitment. I'll ask them via email.

The Continental Slicks that are used in the Grand AM CTSCC are actually Hoosiers in a 275/35 18 and I had no issues with fit on the 18x10 @25p.The biggest issue was that the rears were done after 45 minutes of use

That blue E92 of Ravens is on Motons so the strut clearance is probally different than a stock strut.

The 888's suck the big one as they were OK for about 2 heat cycles and fell off very quickly and the rears only had a usefull life of about 3.5 hours and then came apart as you can see here. They are not very good in the wet even at full tread.

The RA1's are my favorite tires and I get about 10 hours out of them with front to rear rotation. They are very easy to drive on and if you are over the edge very easy to bring back in.They work quite well in the wet if they are over 4/32's and also withstand abuse quite well.

The NT05's are the value tires and work quite well when they are newer as they do start to heat cycle out after about 10 hours of track time.I got about 8 days out of mine with not great traction when the temp was under 8c.Easy tire to drive but not great in the wet.If I am going to use these tires for Time Attack I intend to shave them to help with the heat cycling to get to the optimum tread level for grip.
The Continentals were awesome for grip even on a 5c day and were a real hoot to drive on as the turn in was almost telepathic and with the front grip I had lots of power on oversteer and even sideways the car was accelerating real hard leaving long black strips everywhere even in 3rd gear corners. They only lasted 45 minutes before the rears ran out of rubber but they were sure fun & very fastThese were takeoffs from the factory Boss 302 team and only had 1 heat cycle on them. For $50 a tire I considered them still a good value for entertainment

Thank You Very much
Great info
I used the R A1's a few years ago and was very happy with them.
I would definately get them again , but I will try the NT05's from Your recomendations.

I've read many reports the R888 SUCK on heavy cars, so it's not suprising that Gearhead had a bad experience.

2 sets and the 2nd set I was very careful to heat cycle them carefully before using them. The RA1 could not be more different tire!

In my experience the only thing the R888 does better than the RA1 is work as an intermediate rain tire, especially in drying conditions. The RA1 at full tread is pretty terrible if there's no water on the track or in the dry whereas the R888 at full tread seems to be much happier. Aside from that they're garbage. There are only a couple DOT tires I'd rather have in the dry than a 2/32 or 3/32" shaved RA1.

I confirmed with Raven Performance this morning that 275/35/18 Hoosier R6's and BFG R1's fit with no rubbing on the 18x10" setup as their customer has run that setup before.

Looks like I missed the group buy. Anyone need to get out of a 18x10" set?

Some members have picked up the 18x10.5" rear already. Any tire fitment info available from those members yet?

Can anyone confirm that 18x10" Front 275/35/18 - 18x10.5" Rear 295/35/18 will work with PS2s on an M3 E92, no ZCP/stock?

Thanks

Will that be your track setup, or your daily setup? PS2's are a terrible track tire because of their soft sidewall. That makes them great for the street, but the shoulders wear out prematurely at the track. If that's a street setup, then you may want to consider a narrow front tire and wheel as it will tramline on the street. If it's a track setup then the tire sizes are a good choice, but you'll want to look into different tires.

That will be personal choice. Anthracite is a full gloss finish, satin black is a semi-gloss. So the Anthracite will technically hold up better in the long term, but we've never received a complaint about any finish having an issue, so that difference may be negligible for applications where owners wash and take care of the wheels (racers abuse stuff )

Neither track or street. A setup for canyon roads with somewhat marginal pavement (meaning patched, crack sealed) making softness and wear not a primary concern (actually an advantage). Tramlining would only be an issue on the "to and from", it's not a daily driver.

I just wanted to be sure that the conventional wisdom was I wouldn't have rubbing with the 275/35s and 295/35s front and rear. If these fit that's great because there's also minimal diameter differences from stock which is gravy (speedo and wheel well appearance).

Thanks

Ok, that sounds like a good choice for what you're doing then. Those tire sizes should fit without issue as the PS2's are noticeably narrower then other tires members have run before.

PP21 - what was the offset of those 18x10 wheels? Or is the et25 the only offset available with that size?

Sorry for the silly question - have multiple windows open & can't seem to find where I saw the wheel sizes, offsets, & weights.

Thanks!

Yes, we only have et25 versions of the 18x10 and that is what Raven ran.
