The funny thing in my opinion was not the COCK-O-METER but the way Clarkie dressed for driving the M3, it maybe a British thing this but over here it is SO true.
I commented on this in the other TopGear thread but does anyone feel the seem way as I do, that the RS4 put up a better show than the C63 which looked clumsy in comparison to the RS4 and totally uncontrollable next to the M3. I think Richard summed it up well when he said that the RS4 with it's AWD system made sense after the RWD madness of the other two on the track, it give the driver security and confidence. Though it was still beaten easily by the completeness that was the M3. |

Yes, I have a feeling these are being mixed up in many people's minds. Actually, that must be the case or how else would you explain the "general" steering criticism in light of the reported--not just by Top Gear--stellar steering precision?

I think a lot of noob drivers will get into a lot of trouble w/ that car. Clarkson was being a bit of a tosser in plumping for it emotionally because of the 6.2L brute up front = brutish behaviour

Congrats BMW.....
Heres to 5+ seconds smashing of the C63 / RS4 I hope some of the guys over on 335i side of the board watches and reads this thread. The M3 is not just about power alone...any body can slap can eek out HP from a turbo motor and some can even bolt on coilovers..... It is about car balance and handling as tuned by the best tuners in the world.....M gmbh. That track time is so telling.....

Typically BMW M driver response.. Look at the track time.. Clarkson would say track time my ass as he passes you on the street.. Maybe 1 out of ever 100 M cars will ever make it to the track, I know my M made it to the track but sat in the parking lot.. But I would still pick the M over the other two the C class is just ugly and the audi is slow. |

Trust me having paddles at first is a ton of fun but you lose a lot of the driving experience. After 2 years of ownership you will wish you got the 6 speed, I know I did. Then on the 3rd year you get troubles of the system, my SMG system crap out and needed service every 4-6 months after the 2 1/2 year. |

Congrats to BMW,
Excuse my ignorance but what does cock o meter measure? Was it the cocky level of the driver? I know it was a joke but im just curious.

Wow..... Clarkson's cock-o-meter has you pegged perfectly! Come up to Toronto and I will show you what an M can do on a racetrack while you sip on your latte chatting on your bluetooth headset.

What a waste of a M car.... I have never even met a M car owner who won't at least lie to say that he has made it out on the racetrack.
