Lightbulb reflectors in the USA

Hi to everyone.

I was wondering what's the story on the reflectors of the M3 in the USA. Can they be taken off?

They probably can be taken off in one way or another.
Since no one here in the US has the M3 we cant say for sure which method or even if. But im guessing on using a flat head screw driver.

we might have to turn the wheels away from the bumper in order to access the inside of the bumper in order to "POP" out the reflector....not too hard to do, but finding a good replacement or an exact match of color to paint it or a cover thats also the same color is going to be a bit of a hassle and might not be a DIY job since u need some paint work to the cover or reflector....but as with everything else we'll have to wait and see...

Hey Monsta, have you heard from your sales guy yet? Did you get a official order placed yet?

From the pics they look like they may actually be stuck on with adhesive. Not unlike the rear M3 emblem. If not then I suspect there will be suitable replacements from the aftermarket in short order.

I would suggest fishing line or dental floss and a hair dryer instead of a screwdriver if you value your paint finish.

I agree. A screwdriver is harsh. I used an old credit card and a hairdryer to debadge my car and it worked great. No scratches!!

So what's the story on these reflectors? Are they optional? And how come they're only on the US version? I think they're ugly.

It's sort of a "US Law" thing, but you know, whatever

It's worse than that, some of the factory HID setups they have approved (like the last generation Escalade) are awful.

So, how are the E92 reflectors attached in the normal 3 series? I can't imagine the ones on the M would be any different. I used a hairdryer, floss, and clay bar to get my badge off; I'm hoping these are like that.

The reflectors are totally different between the two. The reflectors on the 3ser are screwed in and in a different location. The M3's are foward of the wheel well, almost at the front of the bumper. They almost appear to be stuck on with adhesive, we can only hope.

They're like the e60 reflectors, meaning snapped on.

They sold painted reflectors for the E46 M3. I couldn't tell a color difference. It may be the same for the E92.

How are they attached then? Honestly curious, do you have some inside info?
