BMW X6
I know this is the 1-series section but if I'll post in the general talk, nobody will see it
the BMW X6 photos have just been released. Amazingly, I find the car to be very good looking and I kinda dig it. BMW X6 Photos |

The X6: why didn't they do this with the 1??
BMW just revealed the X6 CUV "concept" at Frankfurt; it's (according to Autoblog) a very-close -to production version of the vehicle. As soon as I saw the roofline my first thought was "OMG, why didn't they use that stunning design on the 1 coupe?"
It would have been a TOTAL knockout punch... too bad. :frown: Check it out: http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/11/f...w-x6-revealed/ |

I like the X6..I might try to convince my wife to consider purchasing one. But to sit and ask the question of why couldn't BMW do the for the 1-er is retarded.
The 1-er is already going to destroy it's competition, what more do you want? Do you want it to fly to outer space. and take on extrateresstrials? Or maybe tranform into an ass kicking robot and take out Decepticons. BMW is out to conquer all it surveys. All it cars (except the 7 series) are rated at the top of publication top 10 lists. Still waiting on them to get the 7 series right though. BMW is on a roll right now. You guys and your freakin expectations. |

Nasty looking, Over-the-top styling, much too large, I love it.
The Sedona Red is not looking good- waaaaay too much bronze- nevertheless this is the new perfecta combo for America's driveways from BMW. Thanks for the pics Irv. |

Designer is Pierre LeClercq....Bangle hired him!
PL also has designed the X5 but the X6 is much more chance-taking/boundary creature. Again a take-it or leave-it polarizing design from BMW. Another ga-jillion dollar gamble by Suzanne Klatten and board of BMW. Total respect for edge city residency. :respekt: As for the revised 1-er roofline- not sure it'd go over in N/A market. Wait until the next-gen of 1-ers to see if the rumors of a fully-fleshed out model line-up are reality. Can an X1 be so far away?......I don't think so. |

They've got an X1 - it's the five door hatch (minus the X-drive at the moment ;-).
The roofline of the X6 works because of the wheelbase length. Shorten the wheelbase to 1er dimensions and try that roofline and well . . . think Ed 'Big Daddy' Roth. ; -) |

I am really digging the new X6. Any word on where this thing may start at price wise? I don't want to begin a new pricing debate, but for the 135 it should be around mid 30s. What will this thing be around?

Yuck... The roofline actually looks like that of the 350Z so I'm not sure where the revolution is in this design. It just looks like a really uncomfortable and cramped small SUV. Aren't the X3 and X5 enough?
