Which one 2009 or 2010?
I'm in the process of making a decision on either to purchase a 2010 or 2009 E92 at my local dealer. The 2009 was a demo car the owner of the dealer used and has about 2500 miles. They are asking about 64k for it (car has never been registered). 2010 E92 is brand new. Which one do you guys think is the better choice and how much do you think I can negotiate?
Thanks for the advice! 2010: Model 1037 M3 Cp USD 57,850.00 Color A52 Space Gray Metallic 550.00 Upholstery NCSW Black Novillo Leather N/C Options ZCW Cold Weather Package 750.00 464 Ski bag N/C 494 Heated front seats N/C 502 Retractable headlight washers N/C ZPP Premium Package 2,000.00 313 Power folding mirrors N/C 319 Universal garage-door opener N/C 4MY†Carbon Leather interior trim N/C 4NA Digital compass mirror N/C 639 BMW Assist with Bluetooth N/C ZTP Technology Package 3,250.00 223 Electronic Damping Control N/C 2MD M Drive N/C 322 Comfort Access keyless entry N/C 609 Navigation system N/C 620 Voice-command N/C 6UH Real Time Traffic Information N/C 403 Moonroof N/C 615 Online Information Services N/C 655 Satellite radio w/1 year sub. 350.00 6AA BMW TeleServices N/C 6AB Steering TelServices N/C 6FL iPod and USB adapter 400.00 Net Total 65,150.00 Destination Charge 825.00 Gas Guzzler Tax 1,300.00 Total Suggested Price 67,275.00 Or 2009: Model 0937 M3 Cp USD 57,850.00 Color A52 Space Gray Metallic 550.00 Upholstery NCSW Black Novillo Leather N/C Options ZCW Cold Weather Package 750.00 464 Ski bag N/C 494 Heated front seats N/C 502 Retractable headlight washers N/C ZPP Premium Package 2,000.00 313 Power folding mirrors N/C 319 Universal garage-door opener N/C 4MY†Carbon Leather interior trim N/C 4NA Digital compass mirror N/C 639 BMW Assist with Bluetooth N/C ZTP Technology Package 3,250.00 223 Electronic Damping Control N/C 2MD M Drive N/C 322 Comfort Access keyless entry N/C 609 Navigation system N/C 620 Voice-command N/C 653 HD Radio N/C 6UH Real Time Traffic Information N/C 2MK M Double-clutch Transmission 2,900.00 403 Moonroof N/C 507 Park Distance Control (rear) 350.00 615 Online Information Services N/C 6AA BMW TeleServices N/C 6AB Steering TelServices N/C 6FL iPod and USB adapter 400.00 752 Enhanced Premium Sound 1,900.00 Net Total 69,950.00 Destination Charge 825.00 Gas Guzzler Tax 1,300.00 Total Suggested Price 72,075.00 |

Hi Bapesta, and welcome to the forum!
I called inquiring about the same car you did, about 4 months ago - it's at BMW NW in Fife, right? My advice to you is DO NOT buy that car; the owner - whom I spoke to - is a pompous jerk, and not worth your time or money. Granted, I can't afford the car - new or used - and he may have picked up on that. However, I would still say that since the car is past break-in, and you don't know how he used it, I would spend the extra money and buy new. I look forward to seeing you at future meets! I am the unofficial, official photographer for them

Just a few thousand more, right? 1 year less depreciation in addition to it being a new car that you can take care of correctly from the start. Definitely worth it IMO.

Since the 2011 is around the corner, shouldn't I get a deal on the 2010s?

Just be willing to play hardball and you will get what you want. Contact Marta at BMW Seattle or, Richard Hard/David Ly/Alvin Eklund at BMW Bellevue, tell them what you want/need and you should be a happy owner in no time

I've been dealing with David Ly in Bellevue since February. I haven't met him but my cousin have dealt with him before. I feel like he's not giving me the best deal.

Used 2009 - $64k
New 2010 - $67k MSRP = $61.xk invoice The extra options on the used is ~$5k. Assume you add the same same options to the 2010 it'll cost you ~66k invoice. I don't see any reason to get that used car! The 2011s are around the corner, but they aren't in the lot yet. From what I read people are still getting the 2010s above invoice. If you want a deal on the 2010s, wait until after the 2011s are in the lot. |

Stay away from that car in Fife unless they are willing to sell it for $55K. GL

BMW Bellevue will not go anywhere near that deal on a stock car. Don't even waste your time.

Yeah, I had a pretty bad experience with Alvin at BMW Bellevue a couple of months back - when I played hardball on the price he then made some fairly offensive comments to me when didn't like his offer and he lost my sale and I'll definitely be bringing my business to another dealership if I don't buy private party.
