M3 or 335i???
Kidding.
Traded my GT-R for a 2012 M3 Coupe. Interlagos Blue with a black/beige interior. 6 speed manual. Comp package. Seems like most people have gone from an M3 to a GT-R. I'm probably one of the few (only) to go opposite of this. Quick story: 2 years ago, I was looking for a V8, NA sedan. Choices, not surprisingly, came down to the M3 and the C63. I ended up with the C63, but could not get the M3 out of my mind. Somewhere in between there, I added the GT-R. Still have the C63 Sedan, and now a beaut of an M3 Coupe. The M3 will see DD duties. Really liked the GT-R, and will very likely get another one day. But for now, I do love NA V8's. A few pics in dimming light. Really enjoying the car so far. Has more torque down low than people say. Refined and sporting. |

What made you go from the GTR to the M3?
I was in the market for a 13 GTR....actually had a deposit down for one, but when the new MSRP came out, I came to my senses.... so I thought about just modding my WRX STI... then I thought about the C63 or M3... and finally decided on a 12 M3 based on the dealers that I have near me. |

I know they're not really competitors, but I cross-shopped the GT-R and the M3. in the end, the sweet sounds of the S65 V8, the smooth ride and significantly better interior of the M3 were a better fit for me. I haven't looked back. congrats!

Congrats! She's a beauty! I don't know where all this low end torque crap comes from, specially when compared to a 335i. I also own an N54 135i conv and my M3 is faster EVERYWHERE in the RPM range. BTW the title was NOT funny. Enjoy your M!!!

Congrats, she is a beauty. Especially love the first pic where the light reflects nicely on the body contours.

Not really sure. I do like changing up the rides. The GTR is a great car. Amazing speed/handling and more than up to the DD task. Just could not get the M3 out of my mind. Had an E36 back in the mid-90's and had also driven the E46. Tested the E90's several times and was always impressed. And like I said, I just like NA V8's. Seems the future for everything is turbo/super charged. |

I also picked the M3 over the GTR. Only thing GTR has over the M3 is pure speed. Subjectively, the M3 is a better feast for the senses.
