PFC-08 pads w/ OEM rotors...terrible squeal

Looking for some help/suggestions...I've been reading tons online, and am going nuts with this.

-Stock 2011 ZCP E92 w/ 45K miles, just changed to PFC-08 pads & Ti shims in preparation for an upcoming track day.
-I've changed my own brakes pads for over 15 yrs, everything from civics to dedicated track cars.
-pad swap went smoothly, cleaned up the rotors some, added a good amount of "anti-squeal" lube between the pads and Ti shims, and also between the shims and the calipers.
-went to bed in the new pads, and everything seemed great...once things cooled down a bit, any light braking (0-35MPH), the front brakes squeal like crazy; sounds worse than metal-on-metal!

-I took off the wheels and re-checked everything...no obvious issues. so I cleaned out the rotors; cleared out the drilled holes, sanded both rotor faces by hand, then vacuumed up the whole rotor. the issue still persists.

Any other suggestions? I'm close to just buying a new set of rotors...but dang, $1K for a new set of front rotors is harsh. I bought the PFC-08 specially b/c it could handle the track and wasn't noisy for DDing...

Whomever sold you the 08s didn't tell you plus pre purchase you didn't know they squeal? All dedicated track pads too.

The 08's are quiet compared to the 01's.

Any track pad will be much louder than a street pad however the definition of noise is subjective. Just swap your pads out for track days.

oh man...guess I got my information wrong. I knew the 01's were noisy, but thought the 08's were fairly quiet...I know noise is relative to each person, but these 08's are as loud as any full race-track pad I've heard.

I'll keep them in for the next 2 weeks for my upcoming track day...then will be going back to OEM pads.

i put hawk hp plus and have the same problem. insanely loud squeal during light braking at low speeds. and yes i too put the anti squeal compound and it didn't do a thing.

My car sounds like a train coming to a stop with PFC 01/11. People constantly tell me they think something is wrong with my brakes and I should probably get it checked out.

I have no idea why people would routinely use race pads for daily driving...they squeal and worse cold braking performance on the street...

haha same here brother, I run Pagid 29s F and Pagid 19s R, i dont drive mine a whole lot...but when I do its like a dump truck is coming even though they are 2 weeks old haha...they always stare and ask and I have to let them know they're track pads haha

The actual cold/street braking performance is acceptable to me...the initial bite is less them OEM, but I think OEM has too much initial bite anyways.

Noise is the biggest issue for me...this is the first time I've gone w/ PFC, and looks like I just got my information wrong. I was trying to avoid swapping pads every-time I do a track day; I've got young kids, so my time is limited...I'd prefer "car" time to be driving on the track rather than changing pads.

after the next track day I'll swap back to OEM and re-look at other pads zero noise but decent performance for the track.

laziness. it's a serious pain in the butt replacing pads on this car. much easier to just leave them on.

By the time I have got back home from the track, I am ready to swap them out ASAP!

What's the point of having kids if you cannot get them to do simple tasks like swap brake pads? [Or are they too busy cleaning chimneys or fixing industrial weaving looms?]

PFC pads do not require 'bedding' in. Just put them on your car and drive. You need to build a transfer layer of pad material onto the rotor. I just throw them on and romp on them. Stock pads have no problem with the transfer layer from the '08's when you swap back.

They are track pads and engineered for performance over low noise. They will go through your rotors faster too.

PS the 06 is much less noisey. I've had both the 08 and 06's.

I know a lot of ppl who daily 01s. 08s are probably more streetable and perfect for your needs. Just don't drive a Ferrari, new ones squeal too.
