Rear sway bar?

Anyone done a rear sway bar? reason i ask is im at some piont going to have solid sub bushing done and they told me theyll do the sway bar switch for free so i figure cant hurt right, but is it worth the $300-350 for a rear sway bar?

The main cost of putting in a rear sway bar is the labor to drop the sub-frame, so if it were me, I'd do it. I opted out of doing it becasue of the cost and just installed a front sway bar, which is a much easier install.

I did my rear sway bar(RD SPORT) for street driving its useless. But if you track and have proper grip on your tires it improves a lot. Or to dial in steering characteristics.

Im getting solid subs put in and theyll change the Sway bar for free, i wouldnt do it otherwise.

I did front and rear. Limited street impact but big gains on track and for autox. LiM3y is spot on - normally the big cost issue is the labor. If they are already going to be back there - GFI.

Any additional feedback here? I'm hearing mixed reports as to the benefits of a rear sway bar on track for an e90. Yesterday I was told to skip it and instead just dial in spring rates and that many prefer to actually remove them altogether.

I would not remove unless weight was critical. It's a nice tuning tool to have especially for a quick and dirty rain setup. Soften shocks change pressures and disconnect one end link and you have a nice predictable repeatable rain setup with no spring swapping necessary

But stiffer than stock? Don't see the point and most seem to agree with me unless there is another limiting factor that doesn't allow you to run the springs you want. The adjustability of even the stiffer ones is pretty negligible considering they're not much stiffer in absolute terms and they are attached waaay inboard on the control arm so the impact on wheel rate is small

Confirmed this from Turner. Front only bar on most cars they have setup stock rear.

Except for the inboard attachment point part, I was thinking of a different car, these cars are right on the knuckle. So that part was definitely not wisdom, lol
