New Owner Introduction - 2009 AW E92

Hello everyone, just picked up a 2009 AW E92 M3 with extended fox red interior (I know, you either hate it or love it). 49000 miles. The previous owner was kind enough to upgrade to the LED tails and take care of the front side markers. Manual.

I'm coming from the VW/Audi world, previously having owned a 2007 S4 and before that a 2007 GTI.

So far, I'm loving the M3. It is a beast ... for sure.

Enough story time, here are a few pictures.

Good choice of color but man I hate the looks of that wheel and the non yellow side markers. It just looks washed up, unless that is the intended look?

Of what wheel? The optional 19s on the car?

Not a fan of the yellow side markers at all, the white markers really clean up the front and am glad that was already taken care of for me.

CF roof looks great with the white. That was the combo of the first E9x M3 I ever saw in person back in 2008 and it still looks hot now.

BTW, a LOT of M3 people do the painted front reflectors (IND sells 'em). I'm OK with either way, so I'm leaving mine stock.

I really like that combination too (obviously), the roof just pops next to the AW paint. Had to wait a while to find one with a manual out here.

Wheel gap or wheels? Those wheels are sick especially and night when there's a little dim light shining on them...looks like it's riding on blades...

Great pick-up! Good color combo, and excellent options on that car. I'm also surprised to see the updated iDrive controller. I didn't think they got the 7-button iDrive controller until 2010.

Thanks, everyone!
Took it out for a spirited drive after work this evening, this is certainly a special car. I look forward to learning more about it here.

I dig the wheels - I have these same 19" 220M wheels on my M3. For some reason, I read that alot of people on this board seem to not like the 220M wheels.

I disagree. Your wheels rock. I think they are the best wheels around and maybe the best looking production wheels on a car other than the vintage 2006-2010 or so Range Rover Sport 20" stormer wheels -- our M3 19's are so cool looking.

So - just wanted to offer my POV.

I absolutely love the wheels, best looking factory wheel for the e92 in my opinion.
