Just thought I would interject briefly... Yes, "baking" your lights in an oven is and has been done on many cars and many forums and has become more of a science than a crapshoot. However, if you are uncomfortable doing this then don't and send it so someone like OSS who does it with a heat gun, by a pro, and then reassembles it in a Dry environment and resealed with the same type of sealant as your OEM lights and multiple "industrial" clamps. I know there is somewhere where OSS talks about the exact method they use and if I find I will post it for you.

i only ask, because taking apart an e46m3 headlight housing and installing angel eyes was a breeze (to me) ..... and did not require any "baking"
So according to some of these replies .... its "required" on an e9xm3? What does the service dept. @ a BMW Center do for internal headlight assembly repairs? hot air gun? replace the entire assembly? Last edited by mastek; 08-30-2009 at 08:18 PM.. |

I shipped my headlights halfway around the world for my 335i and I'm planning to do it again for my E93 M3, for those who live in the states! It's darn worth it to do the OSS LED mod! You won't regret it! Till today, I'm still in awe everytime I look at it before I leave the car!

I would think it is the other way around, i would want the best ones on my daily driver and the not as good ones on my secondary driver.(i'm using the term "not as good" lightly here since LUX are a great bulb replacement)

thanks for considering our retrofit. as far as both products are concerned, I think their both great solutions. I do have to add that they are completely different approaches so I would not compare them as one is a bulb replacement and the other is a complete replacement of the OEM technology with new light emitting rings, same mission on both our ends but different categories i believe.
I think personally the LUX is the best of the bulb replacement solutions and it's very effective at what it does. I just wanted to offer a more Intense system to customers that had tried the bulb replacement solutions but wanted a more custom and stylized solution for their headlights, without going to HID and to stay with current technology high powered LED arrays that run cool in comparison. So far every client is super ecstatic with the results and that makes it worth the time and effort for me. You can contact Mike at F1 for any other info or myself via email or PM and to the supporters Thanks for the comments on the OSS rings, much appreciated
