heated seats/weight?
hey guys, just wondering if adding the heated seats option would add much weight to the car. im not really familiar with what kind of system this uses and whether it's heavy or not. thanks

Heated seats
Very little weight with this system. It's just some electrical resistance elements, wiring and switches. No motors or anything like that. Can't be more than 2-3 lbs total for the two front seats.

Don't forget a couple more ounces for the on/off button. That will definietly slow you down

Are you sure about that? 2-3lbs total sounds way too conservative. Adding heated seats usually weigh a lot more. I'm not sure about the E90 seats tho cause I haven't taken one out.

No, not sure--that's a guess. But they just consist of 4 lightweight flexible grids plus a few wires and a couple switches. Can't be more than 5# for sure.

i've actually been curious about this same question for quite a while... there has to be somebody in the know about this like maybe member Ward.
