Many people consider the TT-RS as the modern day equivalent to the Quattro Sport, well they ain't even close. Sorry about turning this to Audi but you did ask. |

So yeah, if what savage speaks of is a CSL or something like it, then I would definitely put this theoretical Audi in line as a competitor. Good times. |

I'm saying nothing more about it because I've been accused of hi-jacking posts before and I know this Beemer deserves it's own time in the lime light. I heard rumours of it's N-ring lap time but it appears even that was well shy of the figure to true.

Why do you think a heavier car with less power would be nice?

Yeah, I figured it was a mess-up. In reality though, 200 lbs helps, but it wouldn't make a big difference. It's like having no passenger. You're talking the diffference between 3700 pounds and 3500 pounds. Either way, it's on the heavy side. The car really needs to be closer to 3000 pounds or less to really make a performance difference without doing anything to the engine and drivetrain.

Haha yep, I was just being realistic. i think 200lbs would be great while keeping most of the luxo stuff and amenities

Yes.
7:50 - BMW X5 E53 LM BMW M70 S70B56 engine from a V12 LMR producing 700 bhp (522 kW; 710 PS) and 531 lb-ft; Hans-Joachim Stuck; 'EVO' magazine (08/2005) Coincidentally, this 7:50 time is the same as the record for the M3 CSL. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N%C3%BCrburgring_lap_times

Well it would be nice if it were a street M3 GT4:
4.0l V8, 470 hp, 450 Nm, 1455 kg, carbon all over, a roll cage and the N-Ring time of 7:30 min, a bit faster than the new 911 GT3 RS (7:33 min). But it would be even better if it were a street M3 GT2: 4.0l V8 flat crank, 485 hp, 500 Nm, 1355 kg....... Well whatever, just something new..... |
