Thanks guys. I'm having a run down to Moe on Friday which will be great.

But I must mention the guys at the Porsche Centre who have been an absolute pleasure to deal with. My previous car ended up with a problem with the gearbox. No issue - order a new gearbox from the factory. Swap it over, no cost and no questions.

Before that happened though I did the deal on this new one (which by the way is a bog standard MY09 Carrera S). Driving to the office yesterday after pick up I discovered the sunroof would not tilt. No issue - they were on the phone twice with suggestions and things to try which didnt work so down there this morning. Swap out a switch with no improvement so "we think it's software and need the car for a day" but "we do not want to inconvenience you so can we drop a loaner off and pick up the car from your house?".

Service anyone??!!

Sorry to hear about your 'software issue' on the first day. Never would have happened with a M3 LMAO!!

Wish I wasn't in Sydney on Friday or I would have loved to have followed you to Moe. There's a great section of road from Moe to Erica I have done in previous cars that's a real joy.

When are we catching up to see this Animal?

Camping out tonight actually. Heading to the CBD to pick it up from the Optus Store on Bourke St.

I got 2 guys in the office with HTC Magic and HTC Dream.
Question is....
Can the HTC Magic sync music on iDrive like the iPhone can?

Aggie - I have a 3G HTC Touch Pro presently. TOnight will be it's last night of faithful service. Had issues with it's sluggish performance and very poor battery life. But if you want a phone that hangs up on phone calls and at times is incapable of making phone calls this is the one for you!!! I can guarantee mine will have all those functional attributes.

Moving on to the iPhone 3GS 32Gb from midnight. It has a faster processor and a few extra gizmos (better camera etc etc) than the iPhone 3G but nothing cosmetically different.

Girlfriend uses a iPhone 3G 8Gb. Lovely phone apart from battery life issues in certain usage conditions. Best part is it works very well with iDrive.

Yeah - the battery life on the 3G is an issue, particularly using wifi a lot. Hopefully the 3GS is better. Look forward to hearing how you go.

Aggie as far as I have been told/discovered there are a few minor facelifts as well as some basic firmware updates (which I would have thought would be available to anyone with the current iDrive).

One "rumour" is that the front headlights have been updated to match the current 3 series. Will keep you guys updated. Apparently everything will firm up by August.

Yawn, I'm still here.

Been very quiet on the forum so stayed on the 1 site (other car is a 135) where there is much more activity.

I think the rarity of our cars in Aus may have something to do with it.

Thanks Luke. It was good to catch up - and your M3 still looks great.

I took it on a great drive on Friday - down to Morwell for some quiet laps at the Haunted Hils Hillclimb and then back through Noojee and Yarra Junction. Until I got to the Junction there was absolutely no-one on the road.

Gents,

What is the process as far as getting your car past the 2000kms mark.. as in do I keep the rpms below 4.5k and then I take it in for servicing?

Certainly did. The first part is pretty flat but once you close to Hill End it starts to get interesting, and then from there to the Baw Baw road junction it was brilliant. If you ever get the chance......

Helps to have the sat nav map up so you can see what's coming along next. Mind you, the damned thing kept telling me to turn around or turn left where there was no road. Modern technology eh.

Funny thing just happened though. Went downstairs to go home..flat battery. Waiting for roadside now. No comments please!
