AMS Magazine: Another Comparison, Another Victory - M3 ZCP vs. RS5, C63, B3
Featured on M3POST HOMEPAGE.
The German car magazine Auto Motor und Sport featured an interesting comparison test in their latest issue. Following the current trend, they pitted the E92 M3 equipped with Competition Package (ZCP) and DCT against the Audi RS5. But it doesn't stop there, and they also included the Mercedes C63 with the Performance Package Plus and the Alpina B3 S in this comparison. As many know already, the M3's on a roll lately coming out of every comparison with the Audi RS5 on top. Fortunately, this series doesn't stop now, and the M3 won this comparison against its three contenders. Remarkable is also the AMS verdict which not only emphasizes the M3's performance, but also its driving comfort. See for yourself, here are the results:

I can't believe how bad the mileage/CO2 is for the Audi. It's even worse than the big MB.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

point for point, tit for tat, BMW > Audi. Its quite pleasurable to see all these Audi adverts on tv saying how their cars have the best residuals amongst german cars, or how many of them are still on the road today. Kiss my ass, audi couldnt build a car to save their life. I dont know any car tech that says they would dip their dick in an audi, its either BMW or MB. Apparrently the guys at world car fans talk massive amounts of shit about bmw's... someone tell me what thats all about.
anywho, it makes me very happy that the M3 ZCP has won every single point comparison so far. BMW FTW now wenever the audi fanboy's talk their trash, i need not even entertain their conversations anymore. We have won once again my friends

The point for posting the link was to show how much quicker the RS5 was to the C63. I already knew it wasn't the E92. Don't blame me for Fastestlaps getting it wrong.
Everyone assumes that the RS5 is dramatically slower than an M3 based on some of these reviews but I am trying to show that there are other occasions where the RS5 is comprehensively quicker than those main rivals. |

No the RS5 is never quicker than the M3 when tested on the same day in a side-by-side shoot-out. Compilations of times are useless, & you know it.

So in otherwords the difference between different days should only be the odd tenth if conditions are similar (i.e. dry). |

+1. He strikes again. Those numbers are like finding a needle in a haystack. There is no way an s5 is going to be quicker around the track than an e92 m3 with the same driver and conditions. I also find it a little hard to believe it would be faster than an e93. S5 would be more on par with a 335.

^ I think it will depend on the style of the track, some power track will show the E93 M3 to be quicker by a huge margin while others will show little difference. If you were to ask Alito is he felt his E93 was quicker I think you might be surprised by his comments.
