The Black M Coupe also went off in the 2nd session. He went off exiting turn 6. No damage, just a little bumpy ride.

Great meeting everyone. I was hoping to get a check ride this time, but no dice. Still so much work on. I am going to start working on the wife to find the next DE so I can leverage what I learned this weekend.

The TWS DE was really good and I'm interested in doing it again until I'm in at least the white group. Who else is planning to go back and how soon? There is another TWS DE on December 10-11 that looks pretty good but it's CCW.

Yeah - I like running the same direction on tracks until I really work out all of the turns but some people seem to always want something different.
I'm thinking about going - I'm just curious if anyone else is.

At the rate you studs are hitting events, I'll be so far behind by the time I can get back out I'll need some extra instruction. Anyone game to instruct someone on crutches ................Phil

I vote FusionM3 for "Top Painter's Tape Job" of the event!
I like the TWS school since there was a lot of room on the track. IMO, the classroom stuff was adequeate but The Driver's Edge (TDE) does a better job. On the flipside, the TWS school seems to require a lot more from their green students to move to Blue than TDE. And TDE is more crowded...they are always full. But TDE is more fun...a lot more humor and a little better organized. For example, TDE raises a flag to signal the time to grid up...not a muffled PA announcement. And TDE has trackside support with things like AIR! And brake pads and other stuff you might need. They can do alignments and a bunch of other stuff. Most of all, TDE seems to be a lot more diligent about pairing you with an instructor that drives or has driven a similar car. My instructor was a 'Vette guy...never drove a BMW. Every TDE instructor I've had has driven an E46 BMW so they understand the best line for your car. My instructor kept telling me to drive his vette line. I did but I'm not sure it was the best for my car. If I had to start over, I would start at TDE until I got to blue and then switch to TWS' school.

A quick word on check rides.... the instructor doing the check ride is NOT looking for you to be FAST. They are looking for you to be smooth and consistent. I highly recommend to anyone on a check ride to back down about 1-2/10s for the check ride. Depending on the error.. going off track very well might keep you from going up to the next level.. |

I went out with PCA in the summer and had to hot pit most laps to avoid trains, so having the extra room was pretty nice. |

I am also went off track during cool down lap on 3 when I was pointing to the spot I nearly hit on previous lap through 3. My instructor Eric told me the other instructor's wouldn't've let him live it down if one of his students dropped a tire during cool down...one of the many reasons I finished the weekend still in green.

Here's a video. I know, I'm an amatuer at video editing. I tried. Hope you enjoy the old school rap.

Yeah man, you looked very smooth in the video. Good job! I wish I had the GoPro on my car during the final session on sunday. I was hitting really good lines and all and the I went off. It would have been an entertaining video!
